Ah right!
I tried that and it worked. It doesn’t do same when a single midi file is dragged in.
Just a thought………… would it be possible for me to set the midi input of EZ player to the midi feed coming from my trigger I/O output then output the data stream from EZ player with a wrap applied to say addictive drums enabling me to record the altered data into the addictive drum instrument track…….. EZ player would act as a midi keyboard layout changer in REAL TIME………. changing what it receives on input and outputting in the format of my choice without having to drag files in to browser……….it alters what it receives on input…………changes it and outputs………?
I can use the learn function in the plugins or make a special midi map for the various plugins on the trigger I/O and save them as presets anyway but just curious.
Would you happen to know if it is possible to use EZ player as a filter like this in real time?
Thanks again for all your help!!
Eugene.
Thanks,
I have EZ Player setup like this……… same as the manual:
1) Inserting the plugin:
• Insert the EZplayer plugin on a Mono Instrument Track
2) Setting up:
• Create an Instrument Track with YFDS instantiated on
• Enable the ‘Instruments’ section view (lower left corner of the mixer window)
• At the top of the Pro Tools mixer, access the MIDI I/O for the Instrument Tracks
• Set the MIDI Input of your YFDS Instrument Track to ‘EZplayer’
• Record-arm the Instrument Track YFDS is inserted on
• In EZplayer, choose the appropriate MIDI Output format for YFDS
• Select a groove in EZplayer and press Play
Does this mean I actually have to record the filtered format drum data onto the YFDS track (strike)?
It is playing back from EZ player into strike but do I have to record the data into strike’s instrument track by doing a record pass or can I simply EXPORT the data in strike format an a drag and drop? In other words once the wrap is enabled does it apply to any drag and drop to another track?
Also you say that there are wraps for inout folder………are these set by default or is there a way to assign them?
Thanks again!!
Hi, thanks for getting back so soon!!!!
From what the video said I thought it meant you wrap the file to tell EZ Player what plugin created the data being imported.
I thought it might only be re-mapping to suit Superior or EZ midi map.
So it will convert to any outgoing format for sure?
Ah the new version 1.3.2 has had a note change in the mapping layout and the prior one has not…………. explains why rebooting from another drive made it behave as I was used to it doing……….. the mapping hadn’t been changed at this stage…………
I updated to 1.3.2 earlier today but looks like the midi layout map hasn’t been changed….must take a look now!!!
All is well!!!
