Okay I wanted to wait a few days before I gave an update but I think I solved my problem regarding the “crashes”. Now so far it’s been working well for me. I hope it’ll work for you and anyone else. First I started with the computer and I backed up every audio file and project file onto an external hard drive and deleted everything from the computer. So I only have the main superior drummer 3 plug-in installed and the rest of the sound libraries are all on an external hard drive. The next thing is the audio interface and downloaded the newest update and set the sample rate to no more than 48. Next I went into superior drummer 3 and went up in the buffer size from 64 to 128. And finally in the drum modules, I set the scan time accordingly and not have it any more then3 ms. It’s been a few days since I implemented these changes and I’ve had no problems with drop outs, crackling, or anything.
Yes, I have the same issue with one of my Roland TD 30 modules. I have two of them and one of them gets unselected and I have to reselected every time I boot up superior drummer 3. Strange thing is, this only happens in the standalone and not in logic. In logic, both modules are selected. It’s not really a big deal. It’s just an inconvenience thing.
I haven’t tried that yet. I’m going to test it today to see if I will experience the same issues through the onboard audio. I’ll report back soon.
To be honest, until today, I didn’t even know what a crash dump was much less know how to zip. I’m not tech savvy at all obviously. but I’m learning. Once I figure it out, I will provide it here
Yep, that’s it. That staticky sound right before it goes down. Yep, you’re describing my Issue exactly. And We’re using totally different hardware and equipment yet we’re having the same problem. It’s almost like the issue is with the plug-in and not the hardware it that it can’t handle it even if the buffer IS set optimally. The plug-in just can’t handle the power of the computer. But of course I don’t have any evidence to substantiate that claim. I hope we’ll get some answers real soon
Sorry, I should’ve been more specific. The side stick in modern metal is where I’m having trouble getting the side stick At an adequate higher value. The side stick sounds great in every other expansion. If there’s any other tips on how to raise the volume of the side stick, I’d really appreciate it
2025 and this issue still persists. Come on guys at Toontrack turn up that side stick!
Roland V-Drums TD-02KV 599.99
You can see a clip of this set being paired with EZ Drummer to great effect on YouTube. I personally use a flagship Roland module and it triggers Superior Drummer great.
Yup, because of the limitations of hi-hat stand causing too much vibrations, and setting off false triggers, I’m not surprised that people opt for the foot controller route. If it wasn’t for the small fortune I spent on the VH-13, I’d go for the foot controller myself.

Thanked by: wphallWhat problems are you experiencing, exactly? Triggering problems from the module? Latency? Samples don’t sound how you want them to? There’s a host of issues to deal with. First, you can start with your module Pre Superior Drummer, and adjust your sensitivity and velocity curve so they track your style playing exactly. Another very important setting that you may have to adjust is your Scan Time. I have mine set to 3.1 or 3.2 ms for the best response but yours may very. In Superior Drummer I had a problem with the samples sounding different when clicking them on the computer vs playing them on the pad. So I had to go into the E-drums settings page and go to the velocity curve box and drop the ceiling from 127 to 126 or 125. And that fixed it. You may or may not have to do this. Also setting the buffer as low as your computer can handle for low latency. My best advice for you is to learn and study the program up and down by getting the manual and read it cover to cover. For a module I recommend the TD-30 for more inputs. But any Roland module can do a great job. Hope this helps a little.

Thanked by: wphallJust figured out the bleed from instruments fader section and that fix my issues. Thanks again for the help.
Yes, if I mute the ambience bus, the main instrument and add instrument will sound the same. But I would be sacrificing ambience. I would hate to kill the ambience just to get the instruments to sound the same because this kit really befits greatly from the ambience. What would be the next step for me? As I mentioned before, I’m new to the program.
This is the Djentle Beast preset from Modern Metal EZX. No matter which instrument I add from the preset (add instrument) to the drum set, they do not sound the sound. For example, for my main kick I switched it to the 16×22 Tama Starclassic Performer and had added it again as an Add Instrument as an experiment to hear if there would be a differences between them. And there is when I click between the both. It’s very Noticeable that the both kick drums don’t sound the same. And I’m just in the Djentle Beast preset from Modern Metal, I’m not pulling instruments from any other library. Also, no instruments appear to be stacked. This is going to make it impossible to add more toms to my kit cause they won’t match the preset sonically. There’s probably a simple solution but I’m just too new to the program. Hope my explanation was clear and understandable. Thanks for the reply.
