Why do you need the older version?

I have not found a solution either other than saving a “Kit Preset” for every SDX I own which is kinda of pain in the…
You shouldn’t have to do that. As I asked earlier – did you click ‘use preset’ after you created and saved the preset? Mapping pads isn’t the easiest thing to do in SD3. What I do is to not use the ‘tap pad etc.’ business. I know exactly what MIDI messages my pads send and I make the changes manually in the listing on the left side of the page. Is there a Roland preset that is close to what you have? I know there are errors in some of the mapping presets particularly the General MIDI preset (the rack toms are not correct as they don’t allow for 4 rack toms that the GM spec allows).

This is going to be a dumb question but did you save the preset you created? After you did that did you click ‘use preset’?

The mixer is of SD3
The screenshot is the best i could find on the net. I cannot screenshot the bit as it is the problem I’m having.
This has never happened before, just randomly disappeared. I’ve routed drums to my daw many times.
I’ve tried your suggestions and have not found a solution.
Then that screenshot means nothing. We need to see exactly what you’re seeing. There’s a scrollbar in the shot you posted – if that’s what you’re seeing on your install then use it.

Which mixer are you talking about – the one in SD3 or your daw? In your screenshot of the SD3 mixer you need to either expand the SD3 window height or use the scrollbar at the right side of the window (it’s just to the left of the properties view you show). When you do that you will see the area labeled ‘output’ and when you click on the button just below the fader you’ll see a menu to select where you want the particular channel to go. From there you’ll need to consult the daw manual for routing things from a plugin output to a daw track.
You second screenshot is unreadable – WAY too small.
There is no automatic routing as such.

I do own Battery 4. Do you know of any guides that explain how to do this? That would help me out a ton!
I’m not being sarcastic but try reading the manual – it’s in there. Or do a Google search. That would explain it better than any of us could do.

It would be a no-sale for me here. I don’t use the presets in SD3 as all my mixing is external to the program. I treat SD3 like I do real drums. Granted there are some presets that sound killer but just don’t work for me. Always been a DIY person.

Yes it has. I agree it would be nice although it’s not something I would use as the toontrack libraries are better than anything I could do. There is a workaround using stacking but it’s not a very elegant method. I suspect it won’t happen in sd3 though. More likely to be in sd4 or whatever the next version will be.
The OP wants something like can be done in NI’s Battery 4. Agreed though that what’s in SD3 is way better than anything one of us could come up with.

Thanks, I’m fine with that. I only really need my Death and Darkness kits. Can I just remove the core libraries from the product manager?
I asked a question that you hadn’t answered: are you that starved for drive space?

I’d move them to an external drive so you do t have to download again if you change your mind. Then just go into sd3 and remove them from the paths.
If going that route why not just move all samples to the external drive? I have all my samples on a drive separate from the system drive. With a fast drive connection you’ll never notice any problems. NVME drive would be the way to go.

Thanks, I mainly just want to get rid of all the core kits and anything else I’m not using. Obviously anything that affects the sound quality of the expansions I’d want to keep.
I don’t think you can get rid of the core kits. You need the program and the first 2 sections of the core library. Try putting your SD3 content on a separate samples drive if you’re that starved for disk space. Part of the way down this page is what you need: https://www.toontrack.com/faq/1311697-2/

Thanked by: Prey TorcheYou don’t have to install the whole core library. Strictly speaking you only need the program itself and parts 1 and 2. The rest is optional. Although I’d also keep the additional bleed part. You may well want to use some of the stuff in the core library like percussion pieces. I know I do.

Thanked by: Prey TorcheJack,
I am setting single choke mode in the Settings -> MIDI In/E-Drums.
I have a preset enabled (I created a 7x preset)
Below the “Use Preset” button there is a “Edit” drop down.
If you click that, you can see
Single Choke Mode (Recommended from some EAlesis and Millenium E-Kits)
and
Lower Choke Threshold.
I have both of those checked.
This works fine in the Stand alone superior app, and seems to work fine in every DAW except Studio One, so im guessing there is something in studio one that is causing the problem.
I’ll probably just stick to Cubase since it seems to be working for me.

Check to see if Studio One is filtering incoming MIDI messages.

Doing a web search only turns up something about aftertouch doing the choke but not how to really set it up whether in one’s e-kit, in SD3 or wherever. Wish I could help more. Maybe Jord or someone like him could chime in on this?

Where are you enabling single choke mode? If in your ekit download & run the free utility snoize MIDI monitor software and run it standalone. It will tell you what MIDI note and messages your ekit is sending. See if it corresponds to what SD3 wants to see for cymbal chokes. Also make sure Studio One isn’t filtering out nay MIDI messages.
