Are you on a wired or wireless connection? Tried downloading at different times?

PS – you might want to fix your sigfile as it’s outdated and misleading.

Jonathan: That SD3 works okay in a new Logic project points to it not being strictly an SD3 problem. It may be a plugin other than SD3 that’s causing Logic to crash. And it doesn’t necessarily have to be a plugin in the project but one that resides on your machine. The problem is to find the plugin causing the crash. I seem to remember that recently (March) there’s been issues with Sonoma causing crashes.

Two things come to mind: are there any effects like delay on a channel? The second is does SD3 have the capability of bouncing in faster than real time? I’ve never bounced in SD3 as all my MIDI comes from my daw. The reason I ask the latter question is that I’ve seen/heard that sometimes faster than real time bounce can give random errors.

I have Superior Drummer with 2 SDX packages (1700 kr each). I have Death and Darkness SDX (1700 kr) and want to have Orchestral SDX (2500 kr).

But I cant have Orchestral, since it is non standard one, so instead can I buy Orchestral with a discount, say for 800 kr and use my 1700 kr serial?

What do you mean by ‘Orchestral is a non-standard one’? Your post doesn’t make any sense.

Sorry I must have hit some wrong keys. Yes I meant is everything standard. The vh12 also has pressure sense when you push the hats together. As I say I adjusted the td30 after calibrating as it needed a bit extra to get better closed sound.

Makes sense and not just for drums. Same thing with clutch adjustment on a motorcycle – the manual only goes so far and then one has to go from there. Just make notes as to what you do so you can go back if necessary.

Thanks, yeah I’ve read a lot of different posts with similar issues and tried the proposed changes, but cant seem to get it working correctly.

Cant understand if the MIDI is being read correctly in SD3, why it isn’t transferring the correct articulation

Try this: get the free MIDI-OX utility and run it standalone on your computer and it should tell you exactly what your e-kit is sending and if it’s what you think it should be.

I wish I could answer this but I see a lot of people having problems with hihats and drum triggers particularly the open/closed stuff. Tooontrack really needs to setup a FAQ with answers to this. Same thing with cymbal choking. For as good as the program is the documentation has holes that need to be plugged.

Operating system? Have you emptied the trash? Where are you installing things? The samples can be on any drive.

Something to add to this: run some software that can check your drive for issues. I had a weird one a few years ago where the physical drive itself (7200 rpm spinner) was okay but the electronics in the drive interface had failed. If this is an external ssd drive maybe replace the cables as they can fail with no warning. Can be fine for a while and then everything goes sideways.

The names are there. What you see on the left are the MIDI notes themselves and the names are just to the right of that column. Right-click on the ‘names’ tab to select what to show or hide in that window. You’re not missing anything.

There are videos on YouTube and a simple search there would turn up a few. As far as moving the libraries after installation it’s a simple drag and drop and then tell SD3 where you moved things. Not complicated and one doesn’t need a degree in computer science.

dr_john507 – what map are you talking about?

Click on it and open it. It usually means it has multiple effects.

I’ve never seen that in SD3 whether the stock library or Death & Darkness.

That must be exclusive to that particular library as I don’t see it in either the stock library or Death and Darkness. Could you post a screenshot?

Does your drum kit trigger Superior Drummer in standalone? If so, you might want to check your MIDI channel on your instrument track in reaper. One more silly question: is SD instantiated as a plug-in in reaper?

    jord

Hi Jord,  yes,  i can trigger  SD3 with my drum kit as standalone and SD3 does appear as a track FX  vst plugin in Reaper, but  when i load SD3  as a vst plugin in the track’s FX,  my drum kit can’t trigger it.  i will check the settings again and will follow your suggestions.

I think I have an answer – SD3 is NOT an effect it’s an instrument. Not sure about the terminology in Reaper but I would think it’s like every other daw out there. Treat SD3 like every other virtual instrument you use.

As an FYI it would help in future posts that you include your SD3 version and operating system. There’s are selection popups right underneath the reply window.
