I can say it’s not an 1176/670 compressor as SD3 has emulations of those. The only other ‘classic’ comp I can think of is an LA2A/LA3A but the controls are wrong for that. Nor an SSL bus comp either. API2500 maybe?

Another thing to check is to see what exact notes your drum brain is sending. For Windows I’d suggest MIDI-OX which is a free MIDI monitor utility. On a Mac the program would be snoize. Run the program on your computer in standalone mode and that will tell you exactly is being sent to your computer.

I noticed that when I was using my electric roland kit with Superior Drummer that it had a slapback/echo that was very noticeable on the snare and bass but its on every pad I plat, so i moved over to the standalone software and it ALSO had the same slapback echo going on when using grooves and programming in the SD3 suite itself. I disabled the bleed, didnt solve it. I turn down the bleed, also didnt work. Any insight to how I can get rid of the slapback/echo/slight reverb thats going on? Its on EVERY single kit.

What’s your computer operating system? Using a daw?

The UMONE has written on the ends of the cables where youre supposed to plug in which I have plugged in correctly, When i run snoize the way you describe it, i get no data at all. But when I run the way the cables describe the input/output they are supposed to run to I get data from Snoize.
I’m confused by your description. Are you connecting the cables like is described on this page when you get data: https://www.roland.com/global/products/um-one/specifications/ The MIDI in on the UMONE is to be connected to the MIDI out of the TD20 and the MIDI out of the UMONE is to be connected to the MIDI in of the TD20. Make sure that the MIDI out/through of the TD20 is configured as MIDI out and NOT MIDI through.

You say midi out to midi out and midi in to midi in. That is wrong.
It should be midi out of the module to midi in on the um-one and midi out of the um-one to midi in of the td20. Local should be switched off.
To play sd3 you only need the midi out of the td20 to the midi in of the um-one. You don’t need to send midi back to the td20 and you don’t need to turn local off. That is only required if you want the midi to play the td20.

If you don’t turn local off with a 2-way connection that’s why you get multiple hits/notes.

You can install the sdx’s to multiple places. You just have to change the path to the library in SD3.

George: The first thing I usually tell people with MIDI issues is to get a free utility for telling what’s going on and in this case for Macs that is snoize. Run it in standalone on your computer and it will tell you what’s going on. Although I have the feeling your MIDI routing as stated in your last post might be the issue. Usually for MIDI you go from say MIDI out on a device like a drum brain to MIDI in on a computer.

Sorry Jack, but you can use translate in this case. Just as well, they can translate our responses back to Spanish (which is what it appears the OP speaks).
As for the OP, ZIP up and post your crash dump logs as someone from ToonTrack may see it here. As was suggested in another post, contact support, which is at the bottom of each FAQ page.

I tried Google translater program and it didn’t really work right. Is it too much to ask people that post here to use English? Like I said translate programs don’t always get idioms right and can come out with nonsense to the original speaker (been there/done that). Try English to Russian and back to English. To assume the OP is writing in Spanish is dangerous. Not trying to be a problem but you can never have too much clarity when asking for help with an issue. People might not know how to express their issue especially given technical stuff in the correct terms.

Why does he need to speak English?
Because I don’t understand whatever language he posted in. Besides English is the generally preferred language in this forum. And translation programs don’t always get idioms right. Do you understand what he wrote?

Easy – right click on the cymbal and click on ‘search for instrument’ and up will come a window with the cymbals in the library. Select what you want and click on ‘replace cymbal’. You could for example put a China in there. This will work for any kit piece. You could probably put a drum in there but why?

The TD27 is NOT an audio device. You need a real separate audio I/O connected to your computer to hear the audio from SD3. Also keep in mind that audio and MIDI are two different things. MIDI is just a digital signal to tell a plugin what notes to play or control a parameter.

Is there a direct way to add mixer channels or is that only possible when adding an instrument?
Right-click an Instrument, go to More > Route Instrument Microphones…
The Instrument you right-clicked will be the currently selected one but you can select any Instrument in the top-left drop-down, I .e. you do not need to close this window if you wish to add/route microphones for more than one Instrument.
So, if I e.g. want a new Close Mic for my Ride(s), I click the ‘Close’ Microphone drop-down and select ‘Create New Channel’. In this case, it will be auto-named ‘X-OH’. If I have another Ride that I treat the same, it will be named ‘X-OH1’, etc. BTW, creating new channels is not restricted to ‘Close’ mics.
When done, I close the Routing window and go to the Mixer to double-click the names to give them some better names.
BR.
John
Thanks. Would be great if this could be done from within the mixer as that’s where I’d go to add channels to a mixer – just like in a daw.

I generally don’t point people to do registry editing unless they really know what they’re doing. It’s easy enough to hose a system when one gets in and muck around in there. I know you used to be able to make a copy of the registry before messing about but don’t know about now.
