Sorry but as John said above the stock TD17 preset is set at 89. So it looks like you’re stuck with that unless you change the value in SD3. You should check to see what velocity range your TD17 sends because if it’s the same as John’s TD12 you have to set the range to ‘high’ on the TD17 as per one of John’s posts above.
As to your other question you could try changing the velocity curve in SD3 OR mess with the sensitivity in the TD17 brain but not both at the same time.

I think you’re out of luck getting those 2 expansions to install and work on the Muse.
What the heck happened to the formatting on this page?

I am thinking more about drum machines and synths which usually have atleast one stored “song” which covers audibly what their product does. I realize the Groove tab has plenty of short bars of playing.
There’s nothing like what you’re looking for in SD3.

Thanked by: adiaz7531Shame you’re not using a core library kit to show us but if I had to guess the imbalance might be caused by the fx you’re using. Also look to see what your bleed settings are – that can trip things up.

Hi there,
My first thought would be to check that something not routed to the ambient mic is going to 1/2 on the right side. But without having the project file, or knowing what SDX, kit, preset, etc…
Operating system: macOS Sequoia (15)
Exactly. I can’t find a preset in either the stock core library or Death & Darkness that has a mixer channel labeled ‘room’. This brings up something that gripes me – why can’t people post what presets or whatever they’re running. There’s no such thing as TMI when asking for help.

Along the lines of what John is saying is something I usually tell people to do when having MIDI issues and that is to download/install a free MIDI utility called snoize (for Macs) or MIDIOX (for Windows). Run it standalone and it will tell you what your MIDI device is sending. This will give you a concrete idea of what the TD17 really is sending.
John: while I have your eyeballs I’ve been having a problem logging in here. I click on the link in the email notification I get about a reply here and I login. I click that and get sent to another page where I have to login again. And after that it doesn’t take me to the forum thread but the TT main page. I have to go to the email and reclick on the link to view the message. Been happening since like Saturday. FWIW I run Firefox (latest version) on a Mac.

I know you mentioned that you tried calibration in SD3 but have you tried changing the max value for closed/tight in SD3?

Oh sorry, yes I am using a TD-17 KVX and using the TD-17 preset in Superior Drummer.
I dont remember ever seeing an option to change the resolution in the module.
I am using a VH-10 Hi hat with this hi-hat stand: https://knightmusic.com/product/mapex-tornado-hi-hat-stand-h200tnd/
Its strange that I can’t close the hi hat fully and its only registering open hi hat hits when I record it.
Is this likely to be an issue with the electronic drum kit or module, or would it be within Superior Drummer?
Are you saying that you can’t physically fully close the hihat? I know the guy is talking about using a VH13 but I’d assume a VH10 would be similar. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=RN0qsbVgUyw

Could you post a link that doesn’t require getting an email letting me know if my access was approved? I clicked the hyperlink in your Google Drive page and never got the email. The page had a message in the title bar saying ‘access denied’.
edit for additional: Tried Safari (I always use Firefox – can’t stand Safari) and was able to play the video. What are you using to trigger SD3?

Simple – download and install the Product Manager and let it do it’s thing. Of course you have to register SD3. As to download speed – that has to do with your ISP.

The drive is 6 month old, bus powered and no SSD. Everything else on it works. The SD# file is installed on the system drive. From the error message, it seems to me that it can’t copy the tom file FROM the installation file?
I’ve tried uninstalling the original installation of SD3.
If it’s not an SSD what type of drive is it? A spinner? If you have the room on your system drive install parts 1 and 2 of the core library on that and see if things work okay. I’m also not a fan of bus powered drives. Is the drive connected direct or via adapters? Sometimes adapters don’t pass bus power correctly. As a matter of fact how is the drive connected?

SL-SuperiorDrummer3/GraphicsV3/
Could you go to (Your External drive and folder)/SL-SuperiorDrummer3/GraphicsV3/ and see if the the folder “Tom” does or doesn’t exist?
Jack might be on to something, although my thought is that the drive itself may be failing. Is it an SSD? How old? Is there anything else on it?
It’s odd for SD3 to just stop working and not be able to find files.

Given what the OP has written it could well be that external drive. Failing is one thing. Bad cable is another – they can go bad without moving/disconnecting anything. If the drive is bus powered that could be an issue. Maybe even the drive has gone to sleep but I doubt that. Something I brought up that hasn’t been answered is did the OP install the SD3 program itself as well as parts 1 and 2 of the core library? You need to have them installed.
Oh yeah – one more thing – is SD3 itself installed on the system drive? That’s where it has to be. The sound library can be anywheres.

A .png file is a graphics file. Where are you trying to install to and do you have write permissions to do so (that’s a MacOS issue)? Did you install the main part of the program where the installer wanted to put it? You also need to download and install Parts 1 (the basic sound library) and 2 (room mics) of the core library. Are you letting the installer do it’s thing or are you trying to install manually? What is the file size of part 1 that you downloaded (it should be a few gig).
