Ah, that makes sense. I had moved an SSD over to my new PC, containing most of my sample libraries, etc. and I guess I was still running 2.1.1 on the old machine. PM installed the update and I ended up with two version. I will correct that later this evening when I get back to my studio machine.
Thank you for you very swift response and help
Much appreciated
Dave
Hi John,
I think the terminology used is a little strong! Hacking, in the context of computers, means exploiting and working around computer/software security. Changing entries in the Registry do not, in my humble opinion, fall into that category. The Registry is often regarded as a ‘no-go’ area and that may well be the safe option for the average/novice user…. it is, however, a simple database of settings that used to reside within INI files back in the day, prior to Win95.
Going back to my original post though I am still at a loss to know why the EZD update is having problems finding the DLL whereas previously, even going back to version 1, it was not an issue? The location it was looking for didn’t even exist! If something as fundamental as this has been changed in this most recent update it is, in my opinion, a mistake.
Again, I’m not asking for help to get my system working, It’s all working just fine. I don’t need to uninstall/re-install, etc., I was simply asking why?
Cheers
Dave
Thanks for your reply. My problem is NOT how to make it work or HOW to direct my DAW to see it… I was more concerned with WHY this has only become a problem since installing the most recent update. I have been an EZD user since V1 and have never had any such issues. Perhaps you could point me to a registry entry?
Many thanks
