I was just referencing what you said about

I was just wondering what page/setting “change SD3’s drum mapping to Apple -> Logic Drum Designer.” happens in SD3?

update: that was the missing piece, thanks Jordan. I changed the logic drummer track to use sd3, hit record and it worked. I did have those mapping problems where I had to move a bunch of hits around. I’ll try again using the midi mapping change.

Do you have a pointer to where that mapping change would need to be?
