Hi Scott
Thank you for your reply.
Hopefully ToonTrack might consider disk streaming as a future option?
5-6 gig is a lot of memory to tie up just for drums.
Whilst I can see it would be a viable option in a fixed studio setting, it certainly wouldn’t suit a mobile set-up.
Also, with SSD’s, I found the number of voices I could stream, for example from Kontakt, jumped from ~250 to over 1000.
(As compared to the previous 7200 disk)
My present laptop can’t physically use more than 4 gig of memory, so the SSD has given it an extended shelf life.
Thanks “Juicy”
That’s just saved me a whole load of time and grief.
Would you happen to know if Superior drummer has disk streaming?
This wasn’t explained in any of the documentation.
And it wasn’t made clear during installation.
I don’t remember being asked about an EZHome folder – I went through the installation carefully to avoid data being written to the OS disk.
The OS disk needs to be kept as compact as possible for straight forward back-up and recovery.
I’m not sure anyone would want to be making recovery disks with the complete EZ_Drummer library included?
Any way, thank you for the information, although I would have appreciated this being explained clearly during installation.
If I un-install, and re-install, will I lose one of my authorizations?
