You ask questions like “did you remove all preferences and databases as if I’m a developer and know where these things are…. No, I probably didn’t. Wouldn’t it be great if there was an uninstaller that would do this?
Could you possibly tell me where to go to delete all of the preferences and databases?
I’m going through the process again… manually removing the plugins and stand alone app and trying to reinstall.
Two questions:
Why doesn’t Toontrack make an uninstaller available?
Why doesn’t the installer install the AU? That’s what is corrupt and I can’t get it to install. Very frustrated.
UPDATE: After going through all the steps to delete the VST/AU and reinstall and delete the audio unit cache, Logic still doesn’t want to validate the SD3 AU. All others are validating ok. I’ve opened a ticket with support. I really appreciate the help that’s been offered so far! Thank you
Found it, deleted and rescanned. It stopped on SD3 for a long time and finally came up with a dialog that says it didn’t pass validation and would be disabled. I’ve already reinstalled prior to this. Could this be a due to a recent MacOS or Logic upgrade?
Thank you. I’ve looked in the main Library and User Library Cache folders and can’t locate an audio unit cache.
I have it installed but now Logic locks up on SD during the AU scan. How do I record a sample from Activity Monitor so you see what you’re looking for? Here’s a screenshot of the lockup and Activity Monitor:
Thanks, I’m trying that but Product Manager isn’t installing the AU for some reason. I wish there was an “uninstaller” so I could start from scratch.
Hi David,
if I may ask, what do you base this on? If the PM didn’t install an AU version, how did the one causing the crashes end up there?
If you select the SD3 product in the PM, what does the Installation info tell you?Did you try to select the SD3 plug-in and ‘Reset & Rescan’ in the Plug-In Manager?
BR,
John
If the PM didn’t install an AU version, how did the one causing the crashes end up there? The original installation included the AU. I manually removed the VST and AU since, after downloading the installer, an uninstaller was still not available.
If you select the SD3 product in the PM, what does the Installation info tell you?
*AU not installed.
Thank you, The application just locks up (with spinning beach ball). There is no crash report that I’m aware of?
