I have ez3 and want to bring in a full midi drum performance that is now triggered by my yamaha s-90. I’ve looked at many “how to” videos and still cannot access the full performance midi file. I was able to export the midi file from digital performer 11 but have not yet figured out how to get it into ez3 as a full 5 min performance. Please advise.
Toontrack,
Your response to ticket #3180919 does make sense to me. Please read my post Daron Powers at ticket #3180919 and respond to that request. Thank you.
Toontrack,
I love Toontracks!
So much so that I just spent $3,500+ upgrading to an Mac M1, DP 11, and other hardware with hopes the Toontrack crashes would END.
But unfortunately, I’m following your protocols I select a midi block BEFORE dragging the groove to the timeline and, yes it slows down the crashing. However, not all the time. It should not ever be crashing. But maybe I’m expecting too much of TOONTRACKS?
Bottom line is that Toontrack is still reliably crashing. It’s driving me insane.
WHEN IS TOONTRACKS GOING TO SUPPORT US WITH RELIABLE PRODUCT BY FIXING THE BUGs?
In past posts, I’ve submitted crash reports and Toontracks has admitted the bug will be fixed in an update.
It’s been months. Great concept. Stellar ideas. Amazing sounds! Poor support. I hate myself b/c I’ve fallen in love with software I can’t trust.
One more thing. If I try to close the EZ3 file I get a spinning beach ball and have to unplug the M1 Mac from the wall to get it to shut down.
Moved from old mac to new mac M1.
Finally after many hours got all the software and packs.
Two things are happening:
1. “Loading Grooves Database” and nothing happens. Stuck. Quit and restart many time with no change.
2. Product mgr. claims there are more than one program open. Not so. Restart many times no change.
Help! Crash after crash! Killing my workflow. Can anybody actually help me? So embarrassing especially in front of clients!
I cannot get it to crash in standalone. Seriously, I tried.
Thanks for the suggestion. I do appreciate that you seem concerned about customer satisfaction.
EZ3 is fantastic for quickly discovering a beat that works with all my tracks. Nothing is better. Period. Truly love EZ3. It’s changed everything for me.
But it has to be open inside Digital Performer to make fast and relevant decisions. Working from the stand alone is clunky, time consuming, and would make me not want to use EZ3. I’ve tried it and would prefer jumping off a bridge. (no pun intended on the bridge part.)
So, let’s just get it fixed so music composing and recording for clients can return to normal.
Please advise.
How about we get EZ3 working correctly.
“If it really is impossible that the alt key has been pressed at any time when you have clicked in EZdrummer 3 after opening the project and it still crashes when you drag down a groove, then we need more crash logs (and maybe a project where it can be easily reproduced) because it must be another bug then, which has not been fixed.”
Tell me what you want to get your software working correctly. Send over specific instructions. This bug is creating serious havoc.
The crash happens by simply dragging the groove down to the song creator. I DO NOT press (as you suggest) the left mouse button on the right edge of a song track MIDI block while holding down the alt/option key. I do not touch the keyboard. All I do is select the groove with the mouse. Drag it down and when it hits the measures it crashes. One of your other techs said this is A KNOWN BUG. It is supposed to be fixed in an update. Please check with them about the update. These EZ crashes are killing me.
EZ3 Continues to crash daily. Totally screwing up my workflow, slowing down everything, starts, restart, it’s a nightmare. When will you fix this acknowledged bug in EZ3 software?
See visual. Please acknowledge.
When composing in my DAW (Digital Performer 10) with EZ3 open (any size window) I drag the groove down to the song creator. When the file hits the measure markers it crashes. Only when dragging across the measure markers does it reliably crash. Occasionally I can drag it fast across the measure marker and remain working. Seems to be no way to predict the crash (when dragging from grooves down to the song creator) but it’s consistently screwing up my workflow, clients are upset, and wasting a lot of time.
EZ2 had a bug that the tech said Toontracks would not fix and I was told by your techs to spend money and update. I like EZ3 but I don’t like working on pins and needles.
In a previous support ticket (don’t know how to find it for reference) your tech said it is a software BUG and would be fixed in the next update. I, however, am using EZ3 daily in my work and need a fix now.
When are you going to update ez3 to fix the coding (as you discovered) as my ez3 continues to crash daily!
In another email thread Toontrack asked me to submit a crash report and determined that EZ3 has a serious bug. According to the email thread I am currently stuck with a continuously crashing problem until Toontrack decides to fix the problem and update the software. Frustrated and disappointed. Daron Powers
