To the Toontrack support group. I don’t normally respond to stuff like this but………………

I have been using Toontrack EX drummer and Superior drummer for over 10 years and am a Cubase Pro user and Studio one user using both Windows 10 and more recently Mac Mojave. I have NEVER had any issues that would cause this type of rant and horrible language used by this customer. I find it totally out of line as I am sure other users do as well. My suggestion to the Toontrack folks is to delete this posting and give this user his money back and forever ban him/her from using this site again. Others may disagree.

To the user, Toontrack products are not that hard to use. If the support group answers your questions and you follow their instructions you will find out how simple the products are to use and hopefully regret posting this type of rant. The problem is not Toontrack, the problem is you!

That is good for areas that have high speed internet and no data caps. I have that (200 mbps) and no data caps. About the best I can do is 50 but usually 10-20. Depends on what the computer can handle. The cable companies always say “up to”. I have an i7 Imac. None the less it takes a good 4 hours to download everything which includes SD3. With data caps one could easily spend as much for internet fees as what the program cost. It would be nice to have a thumb drive or something since the updates don’t take very long. Just my $.02 worth. Your mileage may vary.

I have the same question. I made the mistake of switching from High Sierra to Mojave which caused DAW to fail. It would take most of the day to re-download everything. The sound files are all on a remote drive.

I too get kind of fustrated with some of the grooves. A lot of them seem like drum solos and have no place in a song. I did find a shuffle beat in the Nashville EZX that works pretty well but haven’t been succesful finding a simple boom chuck boom chuck with 8th or 16th highhats. Maybe the programmers could come up with some real world beats. After all I think that is why most of us bought this software.

Thank you. Normally I do keep the information. I don’t know why I didn’t this time, I guess because I didn’t change anything and expected the computer ID to not change and let my frustration overcome my reasoning. Hopefully this will be a good tip for other users.
    Thanx again.

Since no one has responded to my concern, maybe support could answer this question! How do I tell which is the most recent authorization so I can delete the older one

Thank you for your help. Have to click on the drums button first then the big orange button. I didn’t see that mentioned in the manual or the online and you tube tutorials. Must have missed it. Everything works fine so I probably won;t have any questions until the new Superior version comes out.

I uninstalled LP and re-installed from the original disk to the current version. While doing that I noticed I had not yet downloaded TT288 so I did that as well. I am not sure what TT288 should be showing as in the library files but there is a pop rock 1 in there under EXZ’s. Should there be something else?

There is no change to Latin Percussion in EZD 2. It is not picking up the actual instrument sounds that are supposed to be in LP, eg. bongos, congas, etc. the hits are there but only the white drum set is showing but only making cymbal noises.

There is no other graphics except the white drum set. How come the graphics (different instruments) don’t change for any of the EZX’s?

So these are the current 2 problems.

Previously I mentioned that all of this stuff works in Superior Drummer and that all of the EZD files are being loaded into C:Program Files (x86)ToontrackEZDrummer.
The .dll file is in that directory and Cubase is pointed to it.
I use Cubase 7.5 64 bit on a Windows 7 Home Premium computer.

On another note, how come I am not getting the Email notices from this forum anymore?

    Thanx!

My first Toontrack product was EZ Drummer which I think I purchased in 2005 or 2006. I have purchased several EZ Drummer add-ons over the years. The computer ID which was generated offline was a 13 digit number. When I got Superior Drummer and it’s add-ons, the same computer ID was generated and everything went well. When I installed EZ Drummer 2 a 21 digit computer ID was generated. This was from the very same offline computer. Technical support suggested I just authorize online. Before, if you authorized online, a different computer ID was generated because of the hardware change. When the WIFI was disabled the programs wouldn’t work. I don’t know if that is the case now. I do like Superior drummer better and the new EZX’s work in it.It does want me to re-authorize the Allaire program and EZD2 pop/rock although they are showing as authorized in my account.
So………………I have all the EZ drummer programs running under a 21 digit computer ID and the Superior Drummer stuff running under a 13 digit computer ID. Same computer, same hardware, same everything. These new ID’s only showed up with EZD2. I am not keen on running the DAW computer with the internet connected because all the DAW computer builders and other experts do not recommend it. This computer is strictly for recording. The only software on it is the OS which is Win 7, Cubase 7.5, Focusrite mix control, Adobe PDF reader for the manuals and of course hundreds of dollars worth of Toontrack software.

One last thing, this computer doesn’t have a built in WIFI chip on the motherboard. No video chip either. I use a USB plugin device the cable company gave me. I only use that for software updates and remove it after.
    Please advise.

Did you get new computer ID’s as well? Toontrack support told me to authorize everything online. Problem is the DAW computer is completely an internet free zone. I am disappointed no one form support has chimed in.

It is like EZ Drummer and Superior Drummer aren’t communicating with each other.

Thank you for your nice comments. I forgot to mention, there are some excellent tutorials on you tube for both the toontrack stuff and cubase that are very helpful as well. Visual aids always work better for me than reading something.
You will get it and be able to knock out a good drum track without too much noodling in a short while.

    Hello,
Just to chime in, I use Superior drummer in Cubase 5. Unless you get one of the songwriter packs and even then, I think you have to build the drum track. Anyway that is what I do. I find a basic beat I can use and drag that beat into the Cubase track. Cubase has a repeat function so I usually tell it to repeat that “groove” 100 times. Then I will add another track right below it and when it comes time for a break or fill, I set the cursor there and add the breaks or fills or beat changes. Once this is all done and I am satisfied I delete the straight beats in the original and slide the fills or breaks up into the original. Have to be careful the blocks are the same size.
This works for me and I think the end results are very good. I think a lot of users have a tendency to over think this software and that is not meant to be an insult. It is a tool and like being a brush and paint artist you have to start with the background and paint forward.

I also use the Superior interface although I have EZ drummer, Latin percussion, Nashville EZX, both songwriter packs and the allen morgan presets. These are all available in the SD interface.

This wouldn’t be that pesky preferences setting for the auto dissolve would it? That was my problem until I was reminded to uncheck it.

Nope, Forgot that part. I was aware of it, but it slipped because of all the other problems.

The tech support team for this site is great.
