I still can’t believe that these plugins sound so good with the presets. Someone more talented than me could make them sound amazing when properly tweaked.
I just recorded a quick riff using the ssl plugs. I used the presets from the ssl channel strip on the instruments and haven’t tweaked at all. I used the camco kit from C&V. There’s no other effects on the drums at all.
I’ve played with these for half a day and these waves ssl plugs are the best I’ve heard. They manage to preserve the airiness and organic feel of C&V – something that most other plugins I’ve tried seem to obliterate.
As Gorilla said even the presets make everything sound great.
Can’t wait to try these. I missed delivery of my new ilok today so I’ll have to wait until monday. That is an amazing price Gorilla – they’re supposed to retail at $800!
