I’ve had the same problem. Would love to learn how to fix it. The SD3 is the only library I own that defaults to volume which is much too low. Strange. I suspect the issue is the player, not the individual samples.

I’m on a Mac running Catalina OS. I just did an “Export song as MIDI” and things work as expected. A dialog box appeared asking where I wanted to save the midi file. Just wanted you to know that it works in my Mac/Catalina environment. Wish I could help.

See my signature for deets, but I’m on macOS Catalina and Digital Performer 10.11. Everything usually works great in my setup. DP has some similarities to ProTools but not the exactly the same. It’s a robust DAW and I’ve used for decades. Given other responses I think it’s likely me that’s the problem. Not the software. 😁

Many SSD drives work well with macOS without any need to format, but I had one recently that needed to be formatted for mac and then it worked just fine. Yes, you will lose what’s on the disk, but I assume (?) you can redownload your Superior Drummer 3 files and plugins afterwards. You need to use the disk utility to do this and then your drive will be recognized (not greyed out) and you will be good to go.

    Thanks for the reply.

I’m using Finale 26.2.1 and am right up to date with all the software. Vienna Ensemble Pro 7 handles all plugins beautifully with Finale…except, so far with Superior Drummer. I will try the Rewire route, but it doesn’t make sense that I would have to step outside the VEP7 environment for one plug in. But on the other hand, the only feature of SD3 that doesn’t work is the Follow Host function, and I guess that might make sense in the same way that you have to use Rewire to work with Reason.

    Thanks again.

    Paul
