OK I’m good to go now.
You guys will be very glad to get rid of me.

But just so you know here was the problem:

I must have reinstalled and uninstalled about 7 times.
And every time I downloaded Beatstation_MAC_102.dmg from the website it loaded as about a 66 meg file.
And when I installed that 66 meg file onto my Mac it said that the installation was successful!
So I’m thinking each time that the install was fine.

But the last time I loaded the same Beatstation_MAC_102.dmg from your website it loaded as a 1.44 gig file.
This one installed absolutely fine and I was up and going in about 2 minutes. Like you would expect.

So just so you don’t think I’m crazy (my wife already does) but that was a pretty weird experience.

    Rogue,

Do you know where the crash report is?

I thought it was under Library>Logs>Crash Reporter
But there is nothing in there.

    thanks

    Hey John,

    I didn’t know 10.6.4 was out yet.
    I have 10.6.3. on a 2 x 3 GHz Dual-Core Intel Xeon 16 GB RAM.

I tried a new reinstall this morning. And installed everything the whole I think 66 meg, with RTAS and VST and Standallone and AU.

When I tried to open the stand alone I got the beachball for about 10 seconds and then it crashed.
Should I send you the crash log?

Also when I run the auvatool on it it quits unexpectedly.

    Hi guys,

    I’m back again.
I know I’m not a lot of fun to deal with but here’s where I’m at now.
Last night before bed I ran ONYX.
This morning I tried a new install (without VST and RTAS versions)
I’m aware that I need the VST download to use it in standalone mode. But I’m only using the AU version.
The reason is because I got the closest to making it work that way.

    I am downloading V1.02 Beatstation.
I have deleted the 2 authorizations I had.
I tried to start anew this morning.
    No luck.
I think maybe I’ll try to open it in Audio Finder instead of Digital Performer.

Any suggestions would be really helpful at this point.

    thanks

    Whitten,

I’m glad you got your Beatstation up and going with no problem.
I was really expecting the same here. I’ve installed a million things on my Intel Mac.
Most of them go smoothly. This did not.
It’s somewhat frustrating when a real problem does occur for a, I’ll call myself a seasoned music computer guy, and there is no support phone number.
Or even a live chat line would be my second choice for D.O.A. product.
And I’m not saying your product is faulty it could completely be on my end but for right now it is unusable.

    Scott,

I do have your message now about tracking down the Core Content if I run into that problem again.
Pleas advise as to what else I can do other than running ONYX or something of that nature. Uninstalling and reinstalling.
If that doesn’t work which I have already done, than what else??

    thanks

    Scott,

When I try to open the standalone, Applications>Toontrack>Beatstation, I get an error message:
    Beatstation quit unexpectedly.

When I try to open it in Digital Performer it fails the AU examination.

    Hey Scott,

    Thanks for the fast reply.
I have an Intel Mac by the way.
It won’t open up as either a standalone or as an AU.
And why would it open if it’s not authorized yet??
