Are you able to recommend a good solid external hard drive that will be comfortable receiving and transferring files with superior drummer 3?

    Hi again,

Thanks so much for your help with this. My last question (hopefully) is am I able to re download my superior drummer 3 parts to a new hard drive? So far, it is all (a part from the initial SD 3 software function) been put on to the current external hard drive- which now needs replacing due to the installation issue discussed above.

    Hi,

Thanks for this. By disk do you mean there’s most likely something wrong with my external hard drive?

Okay so I am currently still waiting for it to copy and it appears to be stuck on having transfered ‘864.0 MB of 1.36 GB.

Would be an alright option to simply delete this sound file from “My Hardrive > SL-SuperiorDrummer3_SDX_Part2 > Contents > SL-SuperiorDrummer3 > Sounds”and then try running the full installation again? It’s evidently not happy with this specific sound file 🙁

Just tried to paste it in right location on the hardrive and it says ‘A newer item named “soundb47.obw” already exists in this location. Do you want to replace it with the older one you’re moving?’

    It comes up with this:

    First command:-rwxrwxrwx  1 staff  583532544 10 Dec 12:09 /Volumes/My Hardrive/SL-SuperiorDrummer3/Sounds/soundb47.obw

    Second md5 command: MD5 (/Volumes/My Hardrive/SL-SuperiorDrummer3/Sounds/soundb47.obw) = 12d4edb5224709403640e65d6396c0b0

No idea what this means aha

Do you mean to post these commands in the same place in: Applications > Utilities > Terminal and paste the following command (line) there?

    Hi Olof,

Yes I have run this and it shows the following MD5 checksum:

    MD5 (/Volumes/My Hardrive/SL-SuperiorDrummer3_SDX_Part2/Contents/SL-SuperiorDrummer3/Sounds/soundb47.obw) = 244b523a75a8f31ec74bcf68b5087f91

    Hi,

I just wanted to check something as I have a related issue with installing the library part 2 ‘room mics’. I am using Toontrack project manager and I am downloading and installing everything onto an external hard drive. The hard drive is brand new and has 2tb of space- it only has the SD3 stuff I have managed to download and instal so far (so plenty of space on it!)

After I click to install product and click update within the library part installer, the installation update gets to 3/4 and then just freezes and won’t progress to the end. It doesn’t come up with any error message but this has often made Toontrack product manager crash as well. Can I use the same method here to try and fix my issue? I’m getting a bit desperate and tired of trying to instal it 100s of times.

    Hi,

I have run a first aid on my brand new external hard drive and it has not shown any errors or problems. Is there any other ways I can get to the bottom of why it’s freezing at the same point of installation every time?

Thanks for this. I was assuming that this was more an issue to do with the Toon Track Manager and how it’s related to the ‘Sound updater’ installer. After a certain progress of installation, I always have to force quit the Toontrack Product Manager app itself as it shows in the apple force quit drop down menu that it is ‘not responding’. Would this then have an effect on the progress of the ‘Sound update’ installer and stop it from competing it’s installation? I will try to run a first aid on the external hardrive disk- I’m hoping it’s not that as it’s brand new (only bought yesterday!)- it’s also 2tb and I have barely used up any storage on it.  When the Sound updater’ installer freezes, it doesn’t say anything or give an alert message- it also doesn’t let me quit the installation as it’s aware it’s not finished.

    Thanks for the speedy response!
