I did exactly what you’re describing, made a manual install to my external SSD etc. I also changed the path in the installation info tab. But it still tells me “damaged installation” and SD3 doesn’t work as expected. I get no sound, but I see the drums hitting.

Thats not good news.  I am setting up a new mac mini today and not looking forward to these issues.
