With reference to your reply January 18, 2021 at 13:26. Please see my note above Olof as well as this.

My experiments implicate pitch bend data. I’m not challenging that you have found that with settings other than Channel 1 being present in the event list causing note off events to be missed.

What I’m saying is that streams of pitch bend data also appear to be able to cause note off events to be ignored in the DAW but not the standalone player. Hope that helps and thanks for sticking with this issue.

Olof, thanks but this is not the issue at all. If you can pick up the specific ticket #(124064) and subsequent e-mails it should become clear.

The issue is caused by pitch bend data NOT the presence of MIDI channel set to 2 in the events list. I can confirm this finding in two ways:

    1. I remove all pitch bend records from the events list and the midi file I supplied you plays perfectly even with some note events containing Channel 2.
    2. I have another midi file where all the notes are assigned to Channel 2 and it also play perfectly because it never had any pitch data in it.

It only manifests with the plugin not in standalone mode.

I notice that more recent threads do not contain my ticket reference so please may I ask that the ticket stays open (i’m hoping that it has not been closed, because it really is not closed.

Thanks in anticipation. I look forward to hearing further from you. PDF of relevant mail message attached.

Hi guys  I raised a formal ticket with toontrack on this a while back. Where we got to was that pitch bend events in bass midi using EZBass in Logic Pro X was causing stuck notes. Interestingly, if you play the very same MIDI in EZBass in standalone mode the issue goes away. Programmers have this new insight and I’m told I’ll get an update to the ticket soon. Can I urge everyone to raise a formal ticket with toontrack to escalate this issue. It is very real and  frankly it is dragging on in terms of a fix which makes me wonder if it is a very serious issue. As it seems to be plugin behaviour rather than standalone app behaviour, perhaps this is involving Apple Logic Pro X devs too in terms of diagnosis and fix? Anyway, let’s get those tickets raised!…

Hi folks this thread has gone quiet, but I recently invested in EZbass and I am also experiencing hung notes in EZbass too on every MIDI bass track that I offer EZbass to play. So it would appear that the issues raised above have not been addressed in version 1.0.7 of EZBass. What I have found is that if I find a note that is hanging (it can be any note not specifically legatos), if I go in and edit that MIDI note duration by the tiniest amount, I can get rid of the hanging note. Note that the following note is already clearly separate from the first note. I am just shortening the preceding note by a minute amount and then EZbass does not hang the note but releases is properly.
