Hi,
I have installed EZdrummer 3 on macOS using Toontrack Product Manager. The manager shows that VST3 version 3.1.0 is installed, but the file “EZdrummer 3.vst3” does not exist in /Library/Audio/Plug-Ins/VST3.
I have:
– Tried reinstalling from the full .dmg installer
– Manually created the VST3 folder
– Reset Studio One’s plug-in paths
– Verified that AU is working, but VST3 is completely missing from the systemCan you please confirm:
1. Is there a working VST3 version of EZdrummer 3 for macOS?
2. If so, where can I get the correct VST3 file or installer?Thank you!

Hi there,
I recently created a new image on my Mac Studio and used the Product Manager installer for EZDrummer 3 and it all worked fine.
The VST3 folder should have existed before you installed EZDrummer 3, so there would be no need to create one.
Can you run the standalone version of EZDrummer 3? Is that what is giving you the error or are you not seeing it in Studio One?

Hello and Greetings, I have a Mac Studio M2 Ultra....Hello and Greetings,
I have a Mac Studio M2 Ultra. and I’m using Pro Tools Studio vs 2024.10.2
The Toontrack PM shows the AAX versions of SD 2.0 and SD 3.0 upgrade are installed but they are not showing up in Pro Tools Studio. They are even
showing the green check-marks that say ‘Ready to Use’.
I know that SD 3.0 is also a stand-alone program and clicking on that directly from my desktop, SD does start up well. It’s just not appearing in
my Pro Tools Studio program.
Thanks So Much,
Frank Bright

Are you using a stereo instrument track to insert Pro Tools on? A stereo instrument track is required.

My computer Sound Card is a Realtek.
I guess some rudimentary trouble solving. Up to date audio driver. Try playing quickly with EZD in record mode and see if the hits are recorded to midi but not being processed by your sound card.
You could try ASIO4ALL instead of the Realtek driver (which I think uses Windows audio instead of ASIO).
Or, look into a dedicated built for purpose audio interface. There’s lots of budget friendly units out there.

If I play slow then the frequency of missed hits is reduced. I have tried changing the buffer size from the recommended setting (Sample Rate=44100 Hz / Audio Buffer Size = 512 samples (11.6ms). As you would expect, if I increase the sample rate the frequency and number of missed hits increases.
System Setup:
Roland TD-27 connected to high performance computer via USB out/in TD-27 Module to Computer USB port
Roland TD-27 Module and Kit. USB = Vendor; MIDI = Local Control Turned Off.
Computer: High Performance Gaming computer: Intel CPU i9-9900K; GPU Gigabyte RTX 20280 8GB; MBO Gigabyte Z390 Aorus Pro; Ram G.Skill Tident Z 32 GB. This computer routinely runs Flight Simulators and other high CPU/GPU demand applications without breaking a sweat.
Any suggestions or thoughts on how to resolve this issue. Not ready to integrate (use) with Reaper DAW until I resolve this issue.

Without knowing the specs of your sound card, I would have to agree with Doug. Great specs for graphics but the onboard sound card may not be optimized for audio processing as a dedicated audio interface would be.

I tried just in case, but unfortunately doesn’t work either.
The only working output in EZD3 3.1.0 seems to be Out 1/2. It doesn’t matter whether I let Samplitude do the routing for me, or doing it manually – Out 3/4 to 31/32 won’t work. When I revert back to 3.0.6, everything is fine again.
Edit: Just tried loading factory settings on Samplitude Pro X6 and even reinstalling it – same issue. Also reinstalled EZD3 multiple times.
Edit #2: I now downloaded and tested the Samplitude Pro X8 trial version and there everything works again. Seems like EZD3 update 3.1.0 changed something which leads to provlems with Samplitude X6 only? I compared the settings and there are no differences I can spot. However, X8 change log states that VST3 compatibilty has been improved compared to X6 and X7. So now I can either stick to EZD3 3.0.6, or spend a lot of money to upgrade to Samplitude X8…
I’m really hoping Toontrack support sees this / some user got a helpful hint to make EZD 3.1.0 work with Samplitude X6 again.
Cheers

I believe most people consider Crucial to be a viable drive company… lots of very satisfied customers. If I could afford faster, I’d have gotten it.
I’ve been using Crucial SSDs and RAM replacement (when one could do such things) in my Macs since 2008. Never had anything go south.
