Problem identified if not totally solved:  at some point and for reasons I now forget, in Reaper I reset the project start to measure one.

 

Don’t do that.

 

For reasons I do not completely understand, I could move the real instruments – bass, guitars, etc – but the drums decided that measure one was their starting point and it really screwed with the rest of the drum track.

 

So now you know.

I don’t even know what an edrum preset is or where to find such a thing.  I suppose I might have inadvertently touched something I didn’t mean to touch, but where is this edrum preset?

Same with mapping on the main page.  Not a clue.  I AM A BASS PLAYER.
