I’ve tried both methods, and in practice, they work the same, but I prefer using the Linked Folder option. That way, I can keep my third-party MIDI files organized in their location without mixing them into the Toontrack installation folders. It also makes things easier when updating or reinstalling SD3/EZD3, since I don’t have to worry about my custom MIDI getting overwritten.
