    Hale&&^%LUJAH! I fixed it!

    The problem was with a certificate that was somehow not in my Trusted Root Certificates.

    And I’m not going to list all the other things I have tried in between.

    Windows 7, and no, I assume I’m way behind on updates.

    Thanks for the quick response, Scott.
    Unfortunately I don’t run UAC on that PC.

    I have the exact same problem. The full error reads: Error 1330. A file that is required cannot be installed because the cabinet file DATA.cab has an invalid digital signature. This may indicate that the cabinet file is corrupt. Error 24581 was returned by WinVerifyTrust.

    Some Googling tought me that this is a Windows problem more than a Toontrack problem, because apparently Windows requires internet to verify the digital signature of every damn program it installs. Unfortunately, I do not have internet in my studio and I really like to keep it that way (apart from the logistic challenge of getting it there).

    Here is what I tried so far. It didn’t work for me, but you could give it a shot.
    – In Control panel > Network and Internet > Internet options, go to the advance tab. Under ‘Security’, turn on ‘Allow software to run or install even if the signature is invalid’, turn off ‘Check for publisher’s certificate revocation’, Check for server certificate revocation’ and ‘Check for signature on downloaded programms’. Restart your PC.
    – Clean up the registry using Wise Registry Cleaner (free).
    – I downloaded and ran http://download.windowsupdate.com/msdownload/update/v3/static/trustedr/en/rootsupd.exe
    – Copied the extracted files to a folder on my desktop and tried to install from there
    – I checked for Windows security patch KB978601 to unistall (but it wasn’t installed).
    – Whatever this guy says: http://www.thayerbirding.com/support-center/index.php/kb/article/000131 (but was already checked in my case).
    – I downloaded and ran this http://winwiki.org/go/download from here http://winwiki.org/error-1330-winverifytrust-error-266/. Sadly that tool that supposably fixes the error requires internet.

    So now I am completely out of options. EZDrummer 2 installed without any issue on my laptop, but I cannot get it to install on my studio’s Windows PC. Guess where I want to use it the most?
