Or the opposite, playing a full open hit and slowly closing it, it keeps ringing the full open sounds and sounds very unnatural
The kick sensitivity is not set right out of the box, with mine my hardest hits were triggering 85-90 max, so change the sensitivity in the module before doing anything in SD3
Hi,
I can get all articulations with the TD-50X Mapping, I’m just asking how to map those notes above. By the way the hihat plays beautifully and without sound artifacts, splashes are dynamic and there’s no false triggering, great work toontrack!
for that price there is nothing decent….
You can just use only 1 hihat in SD3, what you can do is open another instance of SD3 and connect the TD-30 directly to the computer instead of the td-27, select both midi inputs in Sd3. You’ll need a powerful computer and 2 USB ports to do this of course. You will need to create your own MIDI map for the TD-30 but the VH-12 should work automatically.

Thanked by: pladkathe velocity to volume ratio is one of the most annoying properties of toontrack libraries, all are different, the stock SD3 library is really quiet, even if your module sends 127 the cymbals sound quiet, so what you need to do is check your module sends 127 for your hardest hits and then increase the gain in the master volume, I have mine for the SD3 stock library clean presets at +8dB, but for the Fields Of Rock Expansion for instance you need to dial it down to -1dB or -2dB or you will blow your head off.

Thanked by: Andy Renthanks, I’ve played with the release an trigger set to aftertouch but no choke on hihat touch.
Yes, the TD-27 sends aftertouch for the hihat touch choke. Can you elaborate on how to achieve it? I tried to see how the ride choke was triggered when touched but I don’t see anything special on the midi processed by SD3.
I own the td-27 and using the TD-50X preset the touch on the ride and chokes work perfectly
My td 50x is not showing up as an audio output. Everything else is working properly.
did you install the roland driver and change the usb audio to “vendor”?
