Thanks. I reached out to Toontrack on Facebook, since I can no longer find a direct email address to the EZD sales group, to ask if there was an EZX that gave me the same number of drums/cymbals and separate channels as the Post Rock Original Mix with bleed control. I’ll let you know when/if they respond.

If I understand this correctly – the toms would all be recorded to a single track. When I render the tracks, I would only have 1 tom active in EZD and essentially render the tom track 4 times – each time with a different drum active rather than sending the toms to Reaper as separate tracks. The nice thing about the Post-Rock Original Mix is that it has the 4 toms on separate channels. I guess I may need to see if there is an EZD kit that gives me what the Post-Rock Original Mix has as far as channels and also includes a bleed module. The separate render is a possible work-around.

Got It. The Modern Kit seems to be a good template. I has a good bleed controller.

    I’d want to:
    1) Get rid of one of the rack toms so there are only 2
    2) Get rid of some of the cymbals so there is only a ride and 2 crashes
    3) Split the 4 remaining toms into separate tracks (rack 1, rack 2, floor 1, floor 2)

I’m wide open to learning how to do this. Once I get it the way I like it I can save it as a new User Preset.

I can’t thank you enough for all of your help with this.

In my EZDrummer Mixer panel there are no effects. Is there a way to add the bleed component and assign it to, for example, the OH and Snare Bottom? Again I’m using the Post-Rock kit as my template that I’ve altered with my own instrument selections and tuning. I originally chose the Post-Rock kit as a template because it allows me to send every drum to a separate channel in my DAW (Reaper). For example, each of the 4 toms is its own channel instead of being grouped as toms. I have me setting saved as a User Preset. Thanks again! This is super helpful.

Thanks again! I will watch your video(s).

I’ve spent my career as a session drummer and I’m getting up to speed on supplying live (not programmed) drum tracks for clients while socially distanced.

The sounds in EZDrummer far exceed what I could produce by micing my studio kit at home. I simply don’t have the right room, mics, preamps, etc.

shootiehg – Thanks for the reply. Can you tell me which of your videos deals with the bleed options? I am using the Post-Rock kit and assigning each drum to separate channels in Reaper. I have it set up to duplicate the sound of my acoustic session kit as far as drums, tuning, cymbals. etc.

    1 last question (I promise).

I have created a User Preset kit in the Demo. Will that be saved, and show up in the full version when I purchase?

I have to say that I’ve only been messing around with EZD2 for a few days and I’m pretty impressed. Even with the limited sounds in the Demo, I’m able to record some great sounding drum tracks by triggering with my KT4 into Reaper.

    THANKS!

As long as you have at least 2GB of RAM it should be ok. You can always download the EZD2 demo and try it out.

    Scott,

I’ve downloaded the EZD2 demo and have it working with Reaper. I do have a couple of questions:

    1) Are there more drum sounds in the full purchased version of EZD2 than there are in the demo?

    2) If I were to buy a new computer, would I be able to move my EZD2 purchases to the new machine?

    3) I’m a drummer so the pre-recorded loops and patterns are of little (if any) use to me. Is it possible to just purchase additional drums (sounds)?

    Thanks again!

    Thanks again Scott!

    I have 4GB of RAM.

I also found a download link from Apple for GarageBand 6.0.5.

I’m thinking I’ll try the EZD2 demo with GB 6.0.5 and see if that works. If not, I’ll take on the challenge of learning Reaper.

    Thanks Scott!

If I downloaded Reaper 5.17 (32 bit version) and ran that on my current Mac, do you think I’d be good to go?

I realize I’m running an older Mac with an older OS.
