You might try the “swing” slider in the Edit Play Style grid editor. It works in tandem with the note resolution setting according to the manual.

Hi Folks Using SD3, is it possible to just load...Hi Folks
Using SD3, is it possible to just load a single drum instrument instead of a whole kit? I’m looking to use a particular cymbal without using memory for everything else.
To be clear, I’m not looking to mute other instruments in the kit, merely load just a single item from a kit.
Many thanks in advance
Rob

You can unload from RAM any instrument or articulation you want and only leave a single instrument (and a single articulation of that instrument if you want). It’s in the manual.

Thanked by: Robert HicksGood idea! I’ve been dropping cash at Summer sales at Izotope, Native Instruments, Plugin Alliance and UAD for a few weeks now. Some great sales going on over there.

Yes, I just ran into the same problem. I can drag/drop from EK2 to EZB, but lose the song structure. Pretty tedious to rebuild the structure in EZB to match EZK. look forward to the fix. Loving a ton about the new EK though.

Yeah exactly that. Eg I route the ride to a ride channel (that I create) that bleeds into OH, the Crash to a Crash channel (that I create) that also bleeds into OH and so on for as many cymbals that I use. See screenshots.
Only issue is it increase the RAM demand but I have 64GB RAM so still useable with low latency.

When I route, say, the ride to its own channel, I only have that option for a close mic. In your graphic you also have an ‘OH All’ channel. Is that another channel you create? Is it a bus, into which the various overhead channels are routed?

Hey folks, First of all let me say that I...Hey folks,
First of all let me say that I absolutely LOVE, LOVE, LOVE the new EZKeys 2. You have done a stellar job with this and have introduced new features that are just fantastic.
I have just discovered a couple of issues in opening EZKeys 1 files, and in editing user MIDI…
(1) The only way to open files the user created in EZKeys 1 is to import them… but once you import them EZKeys 2 has zero recollection of the name of file which you opened and doesn’t assist you in saving the opened file by offering the original name of the file. If you don’t remember exactly what you opened—and I have a lot of user created EZKeys 1 files—then you will have no idea what you opened and not have the ability to save it with the same name and some indication that it has been resaved for EZKeys 2. This is not helpful at all.
The best solution, to bypass all of this—I think—would be a way to batch convert all EZKeys 1 files so that they are saved as EZKeys 2 files in a new folder and can be opened freely by EZKeys 2 and life can continue as usual. Without this, it is going to be a pain to import EZKeys 1 files and have to keep track of which exact file you opened and cut and paste the filename into Save As… from the filename in the EZKeys 1 folder.
Is there a batch convert option… or perhaps one that will be coming soon?
(2) For some reason some creators of third party piano MIDI create MIDI files that have a silent beat (or longer) at the end of their MIDI files. This means that when using them as patterns in Replace MIDI… will leave a gap every time they are looped. Thus they need to be fixed and the silent part at the end of the loop removed.
In EZKeys 1, I could trim the MIDI and drag it to the User folder and the MIDI would be fixed. In EZKeys 2, however, after dragging the trimmed MIDI to the user folder, it still retains memory of that silent gap and it ruins the Replace MIDI… just as if it had never been trimmed.
Fortunately, I can still fix the MIDI in EZKeys 1 and then immediately drag it into EZKeys 2 in order to fix the files, but users should be able to do this directly in EZKeys 2, especially since not all users will have owned EZKeys 1 and will not have this option available to them.
Probably others have reported these things already. Looking forward to seeing them addressed in an upcoming update.
Thanks,
Zedd

Until a possible fix, might it work to use a third party batch converter to convert all the EK1 file extensions to EK 2 file extensions then “save as…”

Solved by disabling a metric ton of project plugins. Did my edits. Re-enabled plugins. And my CPU thanked me. 🤓

Try right-clicking the block and in the pop up menu select find. Somewhere in there you should be able to locate it in the browser. Assuming it’s not a block you pieced together from multiple blocks, in which case it loses its original identity.

Thanks to you both. Good to know moving forward that OH/Room bleed is not possible in imported files. These particular samples (Steve Ferrone’s Drums From the Big Room) provide Close, OH and Room. I just brought in the close mic figuring I could add it to the overhead and room bleeds in the mixer. I could bring in all three, but it might sound weird given that it’s a completely different room with different mics.

You could use Damping in the Midi Values Editor on the Grid Editor Tab.
Or, automate the fade out in your DAW track if it’s a mixing situation.

Thanks for the replies. It isn’t for live. Working in a DAW. Thought I might have to have two instances, but thought I’d check with the community. You never know…
