Let’s see if the long awaited EZ Bass they just announced for May release has a scalable GUI. As is the GUI on EZ Keys is truly painful to work with. As someone who has studied User Experience best practices, at this point in the product’s life it fails miserably. It is too bad because what it DOES is really cool.

No answer after all these years IS Toontracks’ answer. Sad. One simple thing, and I’d do my happy dance: a scalable GUI. Scalable GUIs are blossoming like flowers across the (updated) plugin landscape, but not here. I’m not sure these coders know how to do it, because clearly it can be done.

Dear Toontracks: We’re big boys and girls. Just TELL US you’re not/can’t update it so we can all stop wasting time and keystrokes. Ignoring us is the biggest form of disrespect.

Don’t know if this could be a workaround but have you tried slicing 4/4 bars in half, resulting in a bar with 2 quarter-note beats? Does that accomplish what you’re trying to do?

Yes. To tag onto this, you can think of A, B, C etc. as song sections, just liked Intro., verse, chorus, etc. The practice arose as a sort of shorthand for studio musicians who may walk in cold and have to quickly see the song structure and know what to play when.

To answer the opening question, yes they have abandoned it. Obviously. The GUI is a joke. The “developers” should be ashamed of themselves at this point if they’re still referring to themselves as that. Three words are all that need saying: They. Don’t. Care.

HI:  I’ve looking in the forums an online about which SR is EZkeys ?  I can’t find it anywhere.  Could anyone please give me some light ?.  If it is 44.1 would that be a problem if I set up my project to run in 48 kHz/24 bit.  I’m using logic pro x. IMac mid 2017, processor 3.4 GHz intel core with 24GB ram. MacOS Mojave. Thank you.

Thanks for the reply, even if it’s not good news for all us EZ Keys users. What you’re saying is EZ Keys and EZ Drummer will continue to get the crumbs of any future attention to user enjoyment and functionality. I appreciate the honesty. It’s good to know moving forward with future decisions regarding where I spend my dollars for production tools. Best regards…

Hello, Toontrack? Is anyone out there? Anyone AT ALL? The GUI is painfully small for composing and is an absolute creativity killer. Are there musicians in your ranks? Or just computer programmers? Is anybody paying attention to user experience? UX considerations should lead your design. Please help! Is the company so heartless that you can’t even reply?

Ah… I though the 9th might be a part of the solution, but I didn’t think about the 3rd. Thanks much.

Thanks for posting this. I was looking at buying it but now I won’t. That is disappointing.

This is a great idea. IK Multimedia does something similar for their user community who can upload/exchange guitar amp presets that they make.

ctrl + scroll is a shortcut for zooming, which you also can do by clicking the + or – on the right edge of the song track. The more you zoom in, the finer the resolution will be, and you can cut on smaller parts of each bar!

This is good to know as a new user. Is it possible to bypass the “snap to grid” functionality in the songwriter? I’d like to “push” some chords to just ahead of or behind the rigid grid markers to humanize the playing. Or, is this something I need to do in my DAW MIDI editor after I drag EZ Keys MIDI in? Thanks.
