I’m not picking it up either. I tried both articulations with zero layer limits within the Black Jeans preset.
May need some elaboration.

If you exported a kick drum that was soloed, you’re silencing the bleed to the other channels. You need to think of drums holistically and export the entire kit either through bus outputs or as a complete mix.

From what it sounds like, stepping on your hi-hat pedal is meant to trigger a foot splash articulation. You might want to open your MIDI monitor property box to see what is being fired when you step on the pedal. from there, you can either re-map the note in question to either the proper articulation or silence it altogether in the MIDI/E drums settings.

If you can’t decide… buy a bundle containing both and then select one more SDX that appeals to you. It would like getting the three of them at sale pricing. 😀

As Scott mentioned, Legacy of Rock has a kit played with hands. As well, Jazz Sessions also contains a kit played with hands.

It has been there since Logic 10. Perhaps you didn’t notice it because you had a region in the instrument track. As long as you have a region in the track (even an empty region), the plugin will load.

Use a separate instance of EZ Drummer and load the regular snare in that instance in order to use sidestick articulation.

Thanked by: mari@jimmieThat, or whatever the power hand may be. Power hands are not always the like for like.

You can replace your groove all or in part. Replace MIDI allows you to audition the part along with your current groove, such as a hi-hat, with your current groove and replace just that.

Thanked by: davidg123Um, if you are tweaking the session player map to be compatible with GM then really you are using it wrong and may only work in very unique situations such as yours, since the session players have their own additions beyond GM. You should have just mapped EZ Drummer’s default mapping as it would have been far more compatible with EZ Drummer.
There are other caveats to the mapped instrument in regards to EZ Drummer. EZ Drummer’s mapping beyond their common articulations change from library to library. It was one of the reasons I never bothered. The drum edit capabilities in the piano roll was another.
Whatever floats your boat.
