In summary you can copy the groove the source instance and then right click the groove in the target instance and select Paste on Selected Groove and select your kit piece to paste.
i’d post a screenshot, but I am not in my computer at the moment.

I do it that way so I have all the soource data in once instance. But yes your method has less ballet moves. The basics is, yes it can be done.
Exactly! If anything I was working on building on your answer. It’s just like when people ask me if it’s okay to do #1 in Logic or #2 and I simply answer “yes”. There’s no right way, but there are ways.

Thanked by: BradYes… there is.
No, there is not.
Please read my original posts carefully!
The feature you’re describing only works within one instance! If I copy the kick track from one instance, then switch to another instance, the paste commands do not work. SD3 and EZD3 both say that the clipboard is empty! The clipboard is not shared between instances.
If you follow the previous instructions and drag the track from the “source” instance to an empty track on the “target” instance you can then copy and then option/right click and select: Paste on selected Groove > Kick. That will leave the rest of the target track intact and insert only the kick that you dragged and dropped to the empty track.

You don’t even need to do that. You can do a straight copy from the one instance and then do a paste in groove onto the other.
plenty of ways to get this done.

Did you even look at my screenshot? There were two instances of Superior Drummer. in fact, I tested it before I posted. I highly suggest you look carefully and try it before telling someone that it doesn’t work despite the fact that they have been doing it for the past 8 years.

Thank you. Your helpfulness is exceeded only by your lack thereof.
Just like a troll to attempt a feeble attack on others in order to make-up for their own inadequacies.

I have two instances of EZD3, and I need to copy the kick part from one instance to the other.
The is your issue posted there. Not only did I answer it, but I posted a screenshot on how to do it. What part of that is not answering your question?
I kept it relevant to SD3 considering that you posted there. However, it applies to EZ Drummer.
It would do you best to go and reread it rather than trying to tell me that it’s not there.

Thanks. I had indeed tried it, but because the window shows “No products were found,” it’s not at all obvious that despite that message, one can still click “View all results.” It’s poor web design, but yes, it does work.
The fact that it shows “View all results” is rather obvious.
Not to mention that if there are people that can necromance 8 year old threads, it is pretty much proof that it works. Nothing poor about that.

You probably had MIDI thru activated causing the double notes (or MIDI echo). What you’re referring to is to nudge the selected notes. However, I would simply delete duplicates

Considering you double posted on the Superior Drummer forum, your answers are there.

Agreed, Level 42 was always high on my list and Mark King is one of bass guitar heroes.
I think Hansa is geared more towards finished or mix ready songs than raw drum sounds themselves. Great for guys like me who do drum programming. Probably why Michael Ilbert was quite suitable for recording EZ Drummer 3’s Core Library.

Thanked by: BradSadly, it appears Toontrack has not enabled drag-and-drop of a single MIDI element. Although there are powerful ways to copy just the kick part (or any other element) and then paste them elsewhere in the same instance, there appears to be no way to do this between two instances.
Yes… there is.

Thanked by: drumjack52 and BradWhereas Logic on the other hand has a resource saving feature, that will not load any plug-ins if there are no regions in the track. One can get around this by putting a blank region in the track or they can turn off the feature altogether.

They would only revert if you set Logic to automatically change interfaces and you turned on you TD17 after Logic was launched. You might want to reset your default alerts.
