There’s always a pad controller. I’ve been a finger drummer for 15 or so years. My weapon of choice right now is a Maschine MkII as well as a Maschine Mikro.

Thanked by: topgoonerI’m running an Apollo Thunderbolt as well. I only keep the buffer high when mixing.

Using their graphics for personal use (such as your own icons in Logic) is not a betrayal in any form. Selling them would be. There’s nothing stopping you from taking a screenshot and using it in Logic.

Thanked by: Rodney FergusonIf you’re really feeling adventurous, you can probably right click the SD3 plug-in or some of the libraries and select Show Package Contents… and trawl through the Resources directories for images that you can use as icons and copy them out.
Note: do this at your own risk…

Thanked by: Rodney FergusonIf your cymbal edge and kick are transmitting the same note number, you would need to correct this on your drum brain. Seeing as 36 is considered the GM standard for kick, you are best to change the cymbal edge and map it to whatever the drum map you are using.

Logic may be pooching out due to the amount of RAM in your system. If it’s one of the iMacs that you can upgrade, I would suggest you install more RAM.
You might be able to conserve some memory by loading only the articulations you need.

Thanked by: andymcshiznitSave it as a Project and it will save your tempo as well as your delay and mix settings along with your kit piece settings.

Thanked by: mickgWhat’s your CoreAudio buffer size for your buffer? That may be accounting for your latency. I often have the same issues within Reason. I usually keep mine low when I am recording MIDI and some audio since I’m usually using Unison and other plug-ins via the Console. I’ll boost it back up when I am mixing.
I’m willing to bet that something between PT and SD3 is happening, but I could be wrong.

Haven’t seen this in Logic with any of my SD3 projects that were done in 3.1.3 or earlier. Sounds more like you either have some bad Logic project files or a pooched install of either SD3 or Logic. With logic you might have to trash your prefs as well.

Do you have any other apps running? As well, are you booting with any CPU hungry extensions (you’d probably have to have to open System Report to find that out). Other things that can affect your MIDI input like that are other USB devices in the same hub.

dear mr Coder.
There is a loooot you need to improove your software. Its not net really intuitive and really tedious to add samples. There is simply not enought direct access TO EVERYTHING. Which in the end means a huhe Timeloss.
Please learn from sofware like maya 3-D or Logic Pro X how windows Menus and accessibility of everything is handled. Lots of menu items in Superior drummer need 3 or more steps WHICH SHOULD just work with ONE Step. Learn and improove otherwise someone else could through you with ease out of the market!!
“an angry user”
Thanks
Reply To: roughly, how many sounds are there per drum? version: 3.1.4
Operating system: macOS Mojave (10.14)I just came from world of BFD3. SD3 is light years beyond. I couldn’t be happier. There is a learning curve with all software and sure there are things that can be better , but wow, this is pretty great.

I jumped ship from BFD3 last year for many reasons and glad I did. Not only easier to use but I’ve stated many times that the drums sound like music rather than noise (and there’s a huge difference). I get the exact mix I’m looking for without a struggle.
Unintuitive is such a highly overrused word… or in the words of Inigo Montoya:
You keep using that word. I do not think it means what you think it means.

If you’re referring to SDXs, the articulations would follow whatever drum mapping you’re using in SD3 when switching between them. So, I’m still unclear what you’re comparing.
jord
Are you defining your drum mapping within SD3? If you’re transposing MIDI within Logic, I can see such issues.
Also a finger drummer.
jord
Not sure I see what you’re comparing to in this case that would increase efficiency.
