SD3 is flexible enough to allow you to route the kit piece ambient microphone to its own channel and you can adjust the panning from there. you’re not stuck in any way.

It is rather unclear as to what kind of timing issues you’re experiencing.
if your timing is drifting out of time, and you are using the SD3 AU plug-in within Logic, Ensure that follow host is on.
If your timing issue is constantly off by specific amount, check your delay compensation in the audio preferences within logic. Make sure it is set to instruments, buses and aux channels, and it is best not to use any latency causing plug-ins while recording.

Something must have rubbed off from living on the other side of the Golden Horseshoe. LOL!
thank you for the listen, as well as the compliment.

No problem! That being said, should you find and clear any security issues, re-run the validation and check any output if something goes wrong.

It’s possible that you may have created some form of security issue when upgrading your OS. Try opening up SD3 in standalone and running through each of your libraries. If any security dialogue boxes come up, that may have crashed the AU validation. You would obviously want to allow whatever SD3 is requesting access for.

Thanked by: JamesSounds interesting, but it also sounds like you need another app to use it in Logic. It might be more advantageous for Logic users to create something in a MIDI FX script.

Thanked by: Loren LeptonConsidering that you are in SD3, why not apply an envelope to your kit piece to tame the ambience?

The standard articulations within SD3 are contained within the General Midi specifications. Thus, if one were to maintain those specs, grouping the various articulations would not be possible in that sense.
And as @Scott alluded, it makes far more sense to spread out the articulations for the purpose of using two hands when finger drumming on a keyboard than to keep them together. On a pad controller, it really wouldn’t matter as you can modify the pads to suit your playing style.

“Think about it tomorrow“ to me is almost like Gary Numan meets The Cars. Overall, good stuff as always. Only thing that I can think of, from my own point of view, is that if I was doing it I probably would have eased up on the vocal aggression in the verse lines and let it all out on the chorus part. Sort of a “call and answer” if you will.
“What are you asking“ To me has more of a Gary Numan meets Teenage Head type of sound. Again, good stuff.

I am not sure that I can say that about every SDX that I own, but I know that I have a few go to packs that easily fit the song at hand. The Allaire side is definitely one of those go to packs. Something about the way Nir Z hits the drums combined with the ambiance.

Of course, now I am going to have to analyze vocal tracks anytime I listen to the Hotel California album. 😀
it might be a change from my use of Yes and Zeppelin type harmonies.

Thanked by: Les BolenThat could introduce more problems than solve, especially if you have extra items such as bus processing.

Exporting multi out drum mixes can be done in Logic, but routings would have to be set up within Logic, which fortunately can be saved as a patch because I wouldn’t want to do this twice.
I’m pretty much the same in that I haven’t had any viable reasons to bounce SD3 to audio since using it (I had numerous reasons in BFD). MIDI is quite the different story, since Logic has many ways to edit and manipulate it.
