My set up is similar to yours as I have a Roland TD-17 connected to my Mac mini via USB and I connect from my Mac mini to my digital mixer via USB. I have a pre-Sonus 16.0.2 which gives me multi track.

Yes you will need a DAW, I use logic pro and studio one. You could also use garage band

The multi channel set up you’re referencing allows you to receive multiple channels within your DAW, depending on which drum set within EZ drummer you have selected, to mix the midi for each microphone for that kit (kick, snare, overhead, etc.).

This was one of the hardest concepts for me to get when I was starting out, so I hope this helps you.

So it is now June 2019 and this is STILL a problem, I still can’t scale EZ Drummer 2… Really?

What is the fix for OSX?

Is this the upsell tactic to get folks to buy Superior 3?

    C’mon man ?

    I tried this as well.

I bought the EZX Exp Vintage Rock and mapped the brushes in it for some stuff that was played on a Roland TD-17… And tried live playing as well.

I couldn’t get it to sound very realistic though so we abandoned the approach and just used a drummer with brushes contained inside of Logic Pro X.

There may be a better way, but the only workaround I’ve discovered is to play the hits on my snare (TD-17) and then re-assign them to the appropriate rimshot key in my MIDI editor within my DAW after I’ve recorded it.

You may want to try using your iPad as a 2nd display and slide EZDrummer over and just tap on it. I use duet Display to use my iPad as an extra display.

I agree, I’ve not been able to separate the cymbals either.

Does Toontrack participate in these forums?! I have other questions but seems the developer doesn’t care to respond with factual info on the products.

So you record down to audio and mix then?

If you need to change drum tone you just record that channel again?
