Would it not be super convenient if we saw a reflection of the midi in EZDrummer in Reaper? But I guess it would involve Reaper programmers and some ARA integration of some sort.
I am basically torn in between the two workflows. Grid editor in EZDrummer 3 is very convenient. But not being able to see what is there in Reaper just kills it for me. So I drag and drop everything to Reaper as soon as I can.
It all depends on how fast you can find the audio file of your recording in the DAW. In my case I have a shortcut assigned in Reaper to directly open the folder of the recording. So it is just click recorded region, type the shortcut which opens the folder of the recording and drag the file into bandmate. It is super fast. I suggest you try to look for such ways in your DAW. I hardly think they would ever implement a function to record into EZdrummer.
Unbelievable my good sir. You are a life saver!
Hi John,
Changing the color format did not make any difference.
I can’t say there are too many latency inducing plugins in the audio path. There are 3 guitar tracks in the project with neural dsp plugins in each. No plugins in the path of EZDrummer.
And even if there were latency inducing plugins, the grid cursor should take that into account no? In the end it is just some visual reference and it should not be affected by latency. It is not like I am playing anything live. It is playing the midi groove that is already there. When I export the midi to Reaper’s interface and play it there there is no latency.
But you are right, it seems like the issue is caused by the plugins for some reason because when I open EZDrummer on an empty project and insert a groove there is no lag in the grid editor. So are we not supposed to add a few guitar tracks as they will cause delay ?

Hello,
I turned off MIDI OUT and received no crashes since then. But MIDI OUT is an indispensable necessity for my workflow. So it is not a solution for me having it turned off.
All in all, I think I had enough of this junk piece of s**t software called Logic Pro and will ditch it for good. Been using EZDrummer with all its functions in Ableton and Reaper with zero crashes.
Will keep you updated if something unusual occurs again.
Regards,
Baran.
I have been trying to upload the crash log but my post is being marked as spam. I copied and pasted the text of the crash log in the attached text file. Please let me know if this is helpful in any way.
Regards,
Baran.
Hi John,
Guess I was a bit fast to declare it a victory. The crash came back. I tried all what you told me to try.
Standalone app does not crash. Only Logic does. I am attaching the crash report extracted from the console. Any help would be appreciated.
Regards,
Baran.
Hello John,
Thank you for your fast reply. Regardless of the crashes I’ve been encountering (been experiencing some other crashes when using grooves window detached), it is good to see that I am supported.
Well to my surprise, after I did what you told me: “Reset & Rescan” in Logic Plug in Manager all the crashes disappeared. Now bandmate and detached windows seem to be working fine and I am extremely happy about this situation. Fingers crossed.
I’ll monitor for a while and let you know if anything goes wrong.
Thanks!
Regards,
Baran.
I am also having crashing after uploading .wav into bandmate. Any solutions for this yet?
