Thank you Olle, it just seems even the most basic GM midi song file(say Long Train running from Doobie Brothers) has drum parts that seem to span about 3 octaves of GM drum sounds that are not mapped(just cloned from first two octaves maybe?) right on Ez Drummer? The drums on this(and most of my GM midi accompaniment files) sound perfect when any GM midi drums…. bottom line I will have to run two drum modules to capture the additional Gm Midi sounds not covered by EZ Drummer and record those separately, but that is not a great workaround 🙁

I routinely purchase Gm midi backing files for a Vegas gig I provide music for, and right now the only thing besides my trusty Audigy soundcard that plays the drums perfectly are my Yamaha DGX Grand(XG Midi) and the Zoom RT323 which maps perfectly to GM Midi. I also own Kitcore and sad to say it suffers the same problem, although it does cover more gm midi sounds than EZ…

As far as I know we use all the standard GM notes for their
intended purpose in our mapping. Still, of course, in one of
our drum kits you won’t find any percussion and in our
percussion products there is only percussion and no
    normal kit pieces.
