I had the same problem maybe 5 days ago and couldn’t even start SD3 because SD3 refused to start without any library- or samplefiles.

I did the basic installation (40 GB or so…) using my 8 years old Toontrack-HD (now I know that it’s still working) and reinstalled the old version of SD3 from that external HD.  After that it was possible to restart the (old) SD3-Software-version with the basic library installation. I had to search for all SDXs seperately but after that my SD3 worked the normal way.

The 6 or 7 newest SDXs had a second problem and did not accept the search done by using the SD3-software but I solved that by using the Toontrack Product Manager Software.
Maybe it is a usefull routine against piracy but the whole thing surprised me a little bit, especially because there wasn’t any corrupted file after I had done the basic installation. I changed the path back to where it always was and it worked.

Now it works like it did before.

    Best regards

    Axel

I actually had this technical / software question when I started this thread and did not intend to complain about toontracks softwarebugs or the time which is required to work on it.
I am convinced that there WILL come an update. Up to that moment it is possible to do all the things that are possible by using SD3. I was quite happy about the answers which solved the problem that I had (for me)… To be honest – I am even happy that there is a forum like this one.

Thank you! That seems to be a working solution.
