A DAW can be unnecessary for certain applications. I was shocked by the response you gave: “You don’t. A DAW in mandatory.” And it got two likes! I really hope this attitude doesn’t reflect the broader Toontrack community. Their apps come across as inclusive, helpful, and focused on convenience.

A DAW often consumes significant CPU resources and adds unnecessary complexity when all you need is a simple connector. It’s like using a chainsaw to slice a tomato—complete overkill. Plus, Toontrack’s EZ products already include built-in sequencers, so you can easily use them without relying on a DAW.

This doesn’t even need a separate app; when two Toontrack applications are open, a sync button could appear on the song timeline, making integration effortless. Simple, elegant, and efficient.
