I think I answered my own question. I created a EZdrummer midi track in logic, eliminated all the set pieces except the rim shot on the floor tom and tied the rim shot to 41 and tuned it to the right spot. On the first track, I eliminated the rim shot 41 as an input effectively muting it. Saved both separately to files and now can load them in as needed together. Now I can play “in the air tonight” through the EZdrummer plug in (and it’s associated samples) and record that 6th tom.
So I have an Alesis Nitro. Midi note 41 is Floor Tom 3, so you can have 6 toms. I can do it in the nitro module, and tune each drum in fourths with a little bit of effort
That last one I mapped to the Rimshot on Floor Tom 2 on EZdrummer. I can play with the tuning on the main screen, however, when I hit the rimshot mapped to 41 (6 above) I don’t have the option to move that tuning separate from Floor Tom 2 (5 above). I just want to tune midi note 41 to F# – how do I do it? ( I was able to tweak 1-5 half a note here or there so for 50 48 47 45 and 43, these are perfect 4ths)
