In EZdrummer 3, the E-Drum velocity control applies on instrument level only. In Superior Drummer 3 however, the velocity can be adjusted on articulation level (including rimshots).

I just reinstalled ezdrummer 2 with the original midi library and the rimshot is ok again when i strike it. So it has to be something to do with the upgrade.
Different libraries respond slightly different in terms of velocity, EZdrummer 2 Modern doesn’t respond exactly like EZdrummer 3 Main Room and so on. If you load the EZdrummer 2 Modern library into EZdrummer 3 it should respond the same way as it does in EZdrummer 2 though.

Rimshots and crashes seem to respond well on our end. Rimshots ring a bit more in EZD2 compared to EZD3.
Make sure to use the default settings in your e-drum module if you aren’t doing this already.

the rimshot sound is way lower in volume than when i used to play it in EZD-2, i can change the midi note or the celocity, but that also means that the snare sound increases in volume, that’s not what i want. Same with the sounds of crashes, these are also very low in volume, again; didn’t change anything.
We’ll look into it.
is that the AI that is interfering while i play?
The AI is not interfering while you are playing the E-drums (unless it has evolved beyond our control 😉 )

I can’t make any promises until it’s properly implemented and tested, but our goal is to include this in an update as soon as possible.

At the moment you’ll have to open Settings > E-Drums… and then select “Mapping” in the panel to the left.

You are right, this doesn’t seem to work as expected. Thanks for letting us know!

If I see anything else, is there a specfic place to report issues? Or is this the best way?
If you want to report on bugs and issues, this forum is probably the best place to do it:)

It’s usually just bad samples that are removed, and other internal fixes but nothing that should affect the sound. Sometimes new presets or features are added.

Thanked by: Neb and Andi SaitenhiebWhen I go through the hihats to listen and locate one I like, it changes the whole kit! I just want to change the hihat. Is this possible? How?
This should work if you select the hi-hat in the Drums tab (by clicking on it), then go to the instrument menu in the top left corner. From this menu you can replace the hi-hat with another one from any of you libraries or with one of you own samples.
And how do I save it as a customized kit once I’ve change the hihat?
You can save the drum kit, mixer settings etc as a User Preset. Open the preset menu in the top right corner of the EZdrummer 3 window, then go to User Presets>Save As…

Bandmate doesn’t include user MIDI, linked folders etc in the search results at the moment.

Thanks for the feedback! We’re are currently looking into the VST3 compatibility of program change and working hard to find the best possible solution. Our goal is to fix it with an update.

Also, rather than this current split menu…
Thanks for your feedback and suggestions!
In what situation did you experience that you had to toggle back and forth between keys and numbers?:) Personally I generally use one or the other rather than switching back and forth between them. I use the note number column with E-Drums and the keys column with MIDI keyboards. If there are workflows that require the user to toggle back and forth between the two I agree that it could probably be a bit cumbersome though.
