Just wanted to confirm that it is not possible to map two instruments to one incoming midi note. Example is I want my Snare on my Ekit to trigger the Snare and Third Tom in EZD3.

You are correct. That is note possible.

    Thank you!

I’m able to reproduce this using the project file that you uploaded. Our goal now is to fix this with an update.

Thanks for reporting this issue, we’ll investigate it asap.

    What DAW are you using?

Do you know how to reproduce this issue (what steps do you take before the hi-hat articulation changes)?

I’ve sent a file request to your email. It would be of great help if you could save a project in your DAW (or in the standalone) where this issue occurs and then upload it to the link in the email. A video/screen recording where you reproduce this issue would be of great help as well (such a video could be uploaded to the same link).

    Thank you!

In addition to my previous post noting the lack of an undo button as in EZ2 – I also notice that – whereas EZ2 had drop down menus for each instrument which easily displayed the relevant articulation, key or midi note – this is missing from EZ3, You can view the articulations in the grid editor – but not the midi note or keyboard key. For those of us who make our drum tracks with an Octopad or similar device – mapping the midi notes is a nightmare.

Go to Settings/E-Drums… then select “Mapping” in the panel to the left.

Also, for some unknown reason, I EZ3 keeps crashing right in the middle of my work. Very frustrating ! – No such problems with EZ2.

Have you installed the updates for EZdrummer 3 (they include some crash fixes)? What OS and DAW are you using? Do you know how to reproduce the crash (what steps do you take before it happens)?

    Hi!

    I’ll look into it.

Would you mind recording a MIDI file where you play on the pad that can’t be mapped and then upload that MIDI file here? This way it’ll be easier for us to investigate why this doesn’t work for you.

For now, maybe you could go to the Track menu and select “Duplicate Current Song Track” before you start to edit the MIDI. This way, the original MIDI performances will be kept safe on the duplicated Track. If you need to, you could then replace “over-quantized” MIDI with the original performance using Copy/Paste for instance.

We are aware of a bug affecting the positioning of the grooves on the Song Track when using EZdrummer 3 in some DAWs. What DAW are you using?

Yes. In the More menu in the Humanization panel you can find the option to “Re-Humanize” when notes are pasted. This way, the humanization of the notes that you paste gets adjusted to the surrounding notes. Re-Humanize when pasting humanized notes is enabled by default.

It’s currently set up to work with most E-Drum modules, but I guess that you are using a MIDI controller with a modulation wheel (or similar)?

    Your feature requests are noted.

    Hi!

For now, the Humanize functionality that you are referring to is not available for percussion instruments, this is why the Humanize button is disabled while only percussion notes are selected. The slight variation in velocity applied to percussion notes drawn in the Grid Editor derives from another system made for percussion instruments only.

There is generally a slight variation in the micro timing of the percussion samples making them sound more natural even when quantized to the grid.
