I’m not the starter of this topic, but it got me interested. After reading all of the above and viewed some YouTube videos I decided to order myself the Akai Professional MPK Mini MK3.
As a guitarist I’ve got a good feeling this can help me forwards with ezdrummer. But even a little bit more with some synth sounds.

Thanked by: Antonio69Glad to read it works in Srudio One now.
I haven’t looked it up, but does Toontrack support Adobe Audition?
If yes, you could create a support ticket?
May I ask what you want to do? I see the other two have responded with 3 devices. I haven’t looked up any video’s for these devices what they can do. But I’m just curious. I myself would look more for a drumset that can be used by fingers. Image a midi drumset like real drummers use, but then for hands/fingers.
Hi,
First of all, have you tried EZD2 standalone? Do you have any sound? If yes, then you have a working EZD.
I use Studio One with a working EZD plugin myself. In Studio One start a new song. Push at “Browse Button”(lower right corner). if you look at “instruments” Do you see a Toontrack folder? Or push the “looking glass” and search for EZdrummer. When there is no result, Studio One cant find the VST plugin. Change it in the Studio One settings where to find them.
If you do have the EZdrummer instrument, create a new track of type instrument and choose as output EZdrummer and press ok.
Another method would be the create a new instrument track, press ok, then simply drag and drop the EZdrummer VST in the track.
Normally that should be all

Thanked by: Marc_49Hi Ben,
I’m pretty in the experimentation mode with EZDrummer. I myself am guitarist, played in a band doing heavy metal songs 80’s 90’s years. Think of Iron maiden, Metallica, Testament, Death etc period. But I’m also interested in bands like Dimmu Borgir, Slipknot and the like. I try to find drum sequences and the sound in EZDrummer myself too.
I bought the kits Metal Machine and Rock! drum kits. Rock! because of the 80’s/90’s sound that is in it. Metal Machine for the double base sound. I also bought a range of midi packs. These midi packs give me a enormous set of drum patterns. These patterns are from normal 1/4 beats to super complicated patterns.
Hope this helps you a little bit.
In the past I did use the tap2find option, but I always found it difficult to use it correctly.
After seeing the above video suggestion I was stunned to see what options there are in EZDrummer. I now did find a pattern that matches closely what I like. With a bit of adjusting my guitar riff too I get a nice start of my song. I already bought some midi packages a lomger time ago (all in the metal/rock scene) but did try the tap2find with the midi webhop. I was amazed when a “Nashville” midi pack apeared in my search. How cool is it that, that I also find patterns that are outside of my metal/rock scene.
The more I play with it, the more fun it is to create songs.
Thank you for your suggestions.
Thanks for the replies. I’m very happy with that.
I haven’t tried them out, but wil do that next week. I will let you know the outcome.
Thanks, I will contact support.
Thank you for replying.
Here are the steps after downloading with product manager:
Step 1: install product -> no go
Step 2: Click on more details. After that I downloaded the updates first. After this step I clicked on the hamburger menu and then install as requested.
Step 3: Installation info:
Step 4: checked authorizations :
Step 5: clicked in the details screen on “open in finder”, next windows apears
The updater shows that it cant install the product (because of 32 bit software).
regards, Andre
I have kind of the same problem. I’m running MacOS Big Sur 11.5.2. I did download with the product manager. EZdrummer did install fine, but Metal Machine EZX,Rock EZX and all drum midi packs I bought do not.
The installer is 32 bit and won’t run. I openend the DMG file that was downloaded where it showed the installer can’t be run.
Could you please update these software packages too?
Thank you
