Don’t use Midi Channel 10 on the Roland TD 10, SD3 and Your DAW (in my case Logic).
I used Midi Channel 1 on my TD 10, SD3 & Logic and everything started to work properly.
I’m guessing because I used Channel 10 Logic thought it was a Standard Drum Instrument and messed about with the mapping some how? If anyone who has a better understanding of Midi want to explain this better then please do. So if you set the vdrums, SD3 and your DAW to any channel other than 10 you should be ok.
Ok I’m not using a different mapping in SD3 I’m using the same mapping in stand alone as plugin in Logic TD10 TWA. My TD 10 works perfectly Stand alone. When I bring up SD3 as an instrument plugin it doesn’t work. So to my Logical head the difference is Logic Pro X. So there has to be a setting in Logic I need to change. If you know what that is. Please Please detail what I have to do as I know absolutely nothing about mapping. The main reason I purchased SD3 was I didn’t need to know anything about mapping. I could just tell it I’m using a Roland TD10 TWA and it would work. And it does but not in Logic as a Plugin. I don’t know anything about mapping so if you know what to do please detail step by step what I need to do to get it to work.
Oh please please don’t say I have to mess about with mapping.
i don’t know enough about mapping and I don’t have enough life left for me to be waisting to get the mapping of my hi hat working right.
I’ve been trying to get my TD 10 to work right in Logic for weeks and I thought when I first got SD3 up and going I had succeeded until I tried to use it through Logic
There is a load of notes for the hi hat and my drum kit is on the other side of my studio.
i bought SD 3 specifically so I wouldn’t have to do that.
SD3 works fine it’s Logic that’s the problem.
Is there not a way to switch mapping off in Logic so the mapping is just going to the SD3 Mapping?
or have I just waisted £300 on SD3
It’s an instrument track
so just recording midi info from my TD 10 via the SD3 plugin.
I did try to get SD 3 to work with Logic Drummer but the Hi Hat wasn’t working right and I eventually gave up with that . Probably just stick to Drummer sounds if I was ever to use it.
But drummer is another subject.
There must be a setting in Logic I’m missing as my TD10 works fine with SD3 outside Logic?
