Thanks everyone, I will set it up so I just have the one midi and one audio track, that’s all I need for now. Thanks for the untick add all softsynth outputs tip, had I done that in the beginning…
Thanks again

Thanks Dysfunction, that is exactly what I was doing. EZdrummer opens up a new folder (Track?) but it has 9 tracks on it and of course the last one has the midi icon and of course that’s the one place I wasn’t dragging anything to, but I think i’ve got it now. Like I said I’ve not used midi before, why all the audio tracks if the only thing making noise is the midi?

Thanks playz123, I had filled some info out earlier and I guess I thought it would just show up. I’m using Sony Vaio,Windows XP, Sonar 6.2 with an RME fireface 800. I usually record just a few people playing live and I’m using that template. I have the EZDrummer DVD and loaded off of that, Sonar recognized it right away as a VST. I watched the video and if I open via inserting a soft synth/vst/ezdrummer. It opens the soft synth options and I choose (all synth audio outputs:stereo) and enable midi. This then opens ezdrummer, earlier today I could not get any sounds from the ezdrummer but now I can ie I can preview the groove clips and strike the drums and hear sounds. I am able to drag a clip over to ezdrummer track and it seems to load but no sound.
The input on the track says ezdrummer 1 primary out stereo, the output says master. if I try o play it with the transport I hear nothing. If I change the output to Fireface analog 1/2 (which is where all the live stuff goes to) I still hear nothing..When ezdrummer opens it creates 9 tracks, does it make a difference which track you drag the groove to? Well… I just answered my own question if I drag to the last track (of the ezdrummer tracks) and put a groove there I can do groove clip looping and I now hear the drums, does this sound right to you? I wish I had known to drag to the last track is that written anywhere? If so I guess I missed it.
Please comment on the last track thing, should I have know this? I don’t really do anything with midi so this is new to me.
Thanks
