Thanks for the reply Olof, I think my question was the one that was a bit silly and unclear. I just went back and did the null test again where I took a drum midi groove and then exported that drum groove twice. Like you stated in the first post they’re identical and they null perfectly. The last time I did an export I must have been exporting through the mixer with non-linear effects.
Basically what I wanted to know is if you do two exports are they identical, because some sampler instrument don’t null perfectly when you export twice, I don’t know if this is due to the randomisation of samples (that they have multiple ones they can choose from for each velocity layer) or non-linear effects, I’m sure you know more about this then I do.
Anyway they null perfectly so I’ve got my answer.
Thanks for the help.
Thanks for the reply Olof. Good point, I’ll use the internal bouncing option if I need more than 16 outputs.
So if I change say a snare pattern and just want to export the snare mics and any mics that contain snare bleed. Is this the same as exporting all the mics again?
I’m asking, because I exported the same performance twice, from the exact same transport position and the audio files weren’t identical. I tested this with a null test.
So I was wondering, might a double export mean that the snare bleed mics contain bleed samples of other kit pieces which don’t match the dry samples of those kit pieces exported in the first export.
I know you might be asking, why don’t I just export all the mics again, I probably will. I just wanted to know if this is a possibility?
Thanks
