    SOLVED

I didn’t realize how simple the fix was because my set up had been working for me for so long but basically I had to take the MIDI to USB cable out of the equation and use the USB-C out on the side of the module which took care of most of the problem but still had some hi hat issues with the accuracy of the triggering. Once I had updated SD3 a couple weeks ago I noticed that it now had a V71 specific mapping preset and had selected it as far as I could tell then remapped a few things but I guess it turns out I was still modifying a TD30 preset or something because I went in and selected it again and everything worked perfectly. I guess being overwhelmed with the idea of my set up working for as long as it did and not knowing where to start with the mountain of trouble shooting possibilities made me overlook some more obvious solutions. I hope this helps someone else in the future.

I’m not sure whether it seems to be working properly or not after using that. I don’t know every possible midi note it would or should be activating internally or how exactly its supposed to read, it seemed to look the same way when I would use the Midi monitor in Superior as well but this has happened between 2 Roland series now that both feature the digital USB cables. I couldn’t imagine that I some how got 2 faulty brand new modules. I had gotten a faulty tom pad with the TD50x out of the box that I sent to get repaired, had returned to me and it was dented, so I ended up needing to send it back again. Unless their quality control has gone way downhill maybe its possible.
