Hello everybody,
We just hooked up the Yamaha DTX760K to Superior Drummer 3 and are wondering if anyone has a MIDI map they used to program the kit to work best. I have selected the DTX700K Preset and there are a couple of notes that are double hitting.
We are surprised that there are not a lot of tutorial videos on MIDI mapping, other than changing ONE note! I would also love some info on the best setting for optimal hi-hat performance, if anyone has the experience?!
Any help is greatly appreciated! 🙂
Best,
Greg
Hi,
if you are getting more than one articulation triggered, you should look into cross-talk settings in your module, there is nothing automatically assigned to more than one articulation in SD3.
If you mean that you are getting flam-triggering, you should look into the sensitivity and re-trigger settings in your module.
Both of the above can be easier to spot and remedy if you record the MIDI data out of your module; does it contain more than one note value at a particular hit when it should be only one or can you see double-triggered notes very close to each other?
Hi-hat setting up works for most people out of the box with the supplied presets but may require some tweaks for others, depending on brand of module, module settings and how you are used to play your kit with the internal sounds.
