Hi,
I just bought Superior Drummer 3 to use as part of an electronic project. My wife (and drummer) plays a Yamaha DTX-700 at home and we are trying to use it as a controller. When she hits the high hat, we only get open hat sounds when using the DTX-700 preset. I thought maybe her settings in the DTX were off so we did a factory restore on the DTX-700, but we are only getting open hats in Superior Drummer. I’ve tried different kits to be sure. We also had her put on her headphones and the hi hat sounds normal when using the DTX-700’s own sounds.
In general the MIDI output is weak compared with how hard she’s hitting the drums. I was messing around with velocity curves which helped but I want to get things right to start with before making my own presets, etc.
We’d like to be able to use it as a controller, obviously.
Thanks for any help you might be able to offer.
On the Drums tab, on the right hand side there is a MIDI monitor. Can you open that up. Close and open your hi-hat. Could you post the number you get when it’s fully closed and the number you get when it’s fully open.
