    I’m not sure I follow.

The outputs from the EZD2 mixer are stereo outputs (8 stereo outputs, 16 total channels used). Output 1 on EZD2 is equal to Output 1+2.

Are you saying you want 8 mono outputs?

I guess my question is, is there an option on the XR18 to receive a stereo input (in this case from EZD) in one channel? If not, is there a workaround of some sort?

put simply, Iwant the snare in channel 1, not channel1+2

I’m not familiar with that mixer. I’m not sure.

No problem at all. Thank you for the really fast responses and honest opinion.

I will Try and experiment a little bit to see if I find a solution. Worst case scenario I use more channels. Still works, less flexibility but still works.

ok so it seems EZD2 does not provide Mono outs. Just stereo channels. If I upgrade to SD3 will I have the option of multichannel mono outs?

Mono outputs in S3 are an option when using Cubase/Nuendo. For other DAWs, you can route to mono outputs via mixer panning i.e. panning L will route to Output 1 of a stereo 1+2 output.

    For example, in Pro Tools:

If you need e.g. the Snare Top Out 3 and Snare Bottom on Out 4 as mono, you set both to Out 3/4 and pan them hard left and right respectively.
Then in Pro Tools, you can split the incoming plugin Stereo Input to Mono Inputs. Simply create a Mono Aux or Mono Instrument and set the Input to 3/4.L for Snare Top and the other Mono channel to Input 3/4.R for the Snare Bottom.

However, I have no idea if you can do that in your hardware mixer setup.
