    1. Vertical Lines represent whatever is selected in the Resolution Button above. (though sometimes you must zoom in to see shorter note durations like 16 or 32nd notes)
    2. Deselect Snap. It’s a button above.

    Snap and Resolution menu
    When engaged the Snap option will cause all notes to conform to the grid. The visible grid is based upon the zoom level (i.e.  the more zoomed in  you are, the more grid lines available). Opening the Resolution menu will allow you to choose the note division for the snapping of notes. When moved, notes will snap to this determined value regardless of the grid lines that are displayed. There is also an Auto option. This forces the note to snap to the very next grid line that is displayed, and thus determined by the zoom level.  The single Resolution menu is used by the Snap, Quantize, Swing, Randomize, and Nudge features.
