OK, been using EZD as a DAW plugin since V1, but only grabbing grooves, dropping them into DAW MIDI tracks, and editing them there in the DAW (laborious).
I’m thinking I should be using the EZD song panel, just not sure how to work with it.
I always have complete song stems in my daw, just need to make new and improved drum tracks.
I usually have a vocalese drum track to base it on, and typically I do the tap-search to get a handle on likely choices from the MIDI library ( I have about 20 kits and another 20 MIDI packs at my disposal). {I was hoping to use the bandmate, but it seems to fail miserably at matching the vocalese drum to a EZD groove, even though the vocalese parts are pretty tight as they were recorded to click track}
What I would like to do is build up the whole song section by section within EZD ‘song track’ window, having it synced to the DAW audio as I go along.
And when its all tweaked to perfection, export the final track to MIDI to go into the DAW.
Is that possible? The online docs don’t really present that workflow. Am I missing something?
As for work flow, The Audition Trick. And for what to do after.
