Hello,
I just bought EZkeys studio grand along with some midi packs and I absolutely love it.
I’m just getting started though so I think the love will only grow stronger when I really get to know it.
Now I’m planning to get some more EZkeys instruments so I can make my backing tracks entirely with EZ products.
EZkeys stringmachine will be one of them and probably retro electrics too.
How ever in a whole lot of my songs I use a hammond (like) rock organ (I’m really hoping there will be an expansion for it in the future).
In the meantime , will the pipe organ expansion get me in the ballpark for some suitable rock sounds?
Or maybe someone has a recommendation for an other expansion that will do something close to an organ which can be used for rock?
I would also appreciate some suggestions for midi packs that are suitable for organ and/or string sounds.
Thanks in advance
D

Thanked by: DavesbandHello Jazzmandan,
Thanks for the help.
I’m currently using my keyboard for organ sounds but I would like to be able to use EZkeys for everything because I’m not the greatest keyboard player (understatement haha).
My main thing is guitars and I use the organs mostly in the background, just following the chords of the song. Very subtle really.
That’s why I was thinking of maybe using one of the pipe organ presets .
Does anyone know if there are presets in the EZkeys pipe organ that can be usefull for that kind of stuff?
Or maybe someone has a suggestion for midi packs that will work nicely with strings or organ sounds as I’m planning to get some other instrument packs as well like the stringmachine and maybe the dream machine and retro electrics.
Greetings D
No.
For that kind of music I would look at the two versions of Fender Rhodes that both sounds good and are easy to use. Also the Vintage upright piano. I bought it and when I tested it I thought “what the heck did I just buy”? BUT, using it in the mix it just sat beautifully and was much “closer” then the Studio Grand. Haven’t had much use for the Stringmachine.
Piporgan sounds great and is very suitable for film clips and church ambience, but for popular music – NO.

Thanked by: DavesbandHello GW,
Thanks for the info 🙂
I’ve checked out the classic electrics and I plan to buy them later today.
Maybe I also buy another bundle of midi packs so if anyone has some good suggestions for mostly rock based midi pack please let me know.
(still hoping for a hammond like organ in the future though hehe)
greetings D
I have a strong feeling you will be more than satisfied with that choice. Saying that, I have an actual Rhodes Mark II standing here next to me – but I liked a Mark I I used to have at work more and the Electric MK I setting DI comes very close to what I remember coming out of that one. Because the ease of use with these plugins I never use the actual Fender Rhodes anymore. Hope you have fun with it.
Yes, I also wouldn’t mind a Hammond A or B3, celebrating the launch of EZKeys2.

Thanked by: DavesbandHi GW,
Thanks a lot for the tip 🙂 I got the classic electrics now for a few days and I really like it.
I especially like the MK I presets.
I got a bunch of midi packs as well so I’m good to go for a while 🙂
I’ve been a good boy all year so I’m hoping Toontrack will put a nice Hammond style organ underneath the christmas tree :p
greetings D
