We already have it! Why do I need a damn logo to remind me. Tell your marketing people to F*** O** and fix the crap they have caused. You have once again broken a working product because of madness. Every time I load my stuff the drums don’t work until I go into SD3. Are you actually adults!

Nope. 7 seconds is almost exactly how long my takes as well.
We seem to have some confusion about what we’re talking about.
I’m using a brand spanking new mac studio where all other operations are extremely fast.Superior Drummer 3 version: 3.3.2

NOPE! 3 second for the logo on mine. No more. And when it disappears, my libraries are still loading with is another 7secs considering the size of the preset.
Plain and simple: Fix your system. Who cares if you have a brand spanking new system. I’m running faster on a slower system for a reason. When you learn the difference between speed and bandwidth, you’ll understand how audio production works.

You may not have selected the preference option to load all sounds at launch. You may have it set to just open and then load samples when they are triggered. Which I may go back to considering this new bug.

Logo appears for 3 seconds on my trashcan and another 7 seconds fully loading a 10GB preset.
Your system needs optimization.

What’s the specs on your trashcan? NVME ssd or standard ssd? Being there’s no internal drives that can be added how is your sample drive connected? All that makes a hell of a difference. The simple fact is with the logo thing loading times until usable are now longer than they were before. It’s not so much the computer but Toontrack’s fault when everything else on one’s computer runs just fine but SD3 becomes slower.

ok buddy, i get it, your one of those guys. If your looking for debate , im not interested.
I know my system, the update added a splash screen that created a longer lag. Its just that simple. Why do people insist on disagreeing with people simply because they dont have the same issue.
“When you learn the difference between speed and bandwidth, you’ll understand how audio production works” …wtf is that? so not on target and has nothing to do with the issue at hand. Go away from this thread if its not an issue for you.

You last statement obviously proves you don’t know your system, especially in relation to what it takes to do audio production. There is an obvious reason why I don’t have this issue. By the same token why do people like you who do have an issue all of a sudden scream that it is a bug?
I’ve done this for far many years and have seen your type complaining bandwidth related issues on computers with blazing fast CPUs.

What you don’t get and never will is people had perfectly running systems BEFORE the last update and with the current one they’re having problems. To me that puts the onus on Toontrack to step up to the plate and fix it. The system hasn’t changed. Bandwidth per se has NOTHING to do with the problem at hand. The systems have the same bandwidth as before. They functioned perfectly before. If they had/have system problems they would have seen it with other software.

Not that I was talking to you before Jack, but seeing as you decided to jump in…
Let me start by telling you that audio production is not like running any other data on your computer. I’ve said this for many years on forums with people complaining about bandwidth issues, including but not limited to CoreAudio. However, there is a grain of truth in your stating that it matters how an SSD drive is hooked up, or should I say SSD DRIVES. Not to mention, HOW they are hooked up and in what configuration to best support audio production. The only reason you ask the specs of the trashcan is because you know very well that it is slower in CPU speed than your Mac Studio. Considering that SD3 needs to get its GUI in place, this includes loading whatever resources from a drive. That is not dependent on CPU speed but on drive traffic, and if it is such a Toontrack Issue, then please explain to me how I am only getting three seconds of logo, which I consider pretty much inconsequential when I am already loading 10 GB worth of drums? Not to mention that I don’t think that I am the only one experiencing a faster logo appearance.
The simple fact is that if it only 3 secs on my machine, then it is a USER problem and not a Toontrack one. All you’re doing is proving to me that you haven’t learned the difference between speed and bandwidth in all these years, which is rather ironic since BFD was a bandwidth resource hog.

I don’t have a Mac Studio – that’s another person here. Get your stuff straight. And you still won’t post your system specs. Until you do your numbers mean anything. At best assuming you have the highest speed cpu in your trashcan it’s maybe 15% faster than the 3.46 GHz hex core in my 2012 cheesegrater. At the risk of repeating myself it’s not the computer or user that is the issue when things were ok before – it’s Toontrack.
Face it – you don’t know everything even though you think you do.

I never said I know everything. However, you have proven that I know more than you in this case. So please, keep going because I am enjoying this a lot more than you are.
Considering the load times that I am experiencing, how do computer specs matter in this case? Perhaps, for shits and giggles I can hook up my 10 year old MacBook Pro to my RAID system to see what kind of performance I get from the logo. I might get a second or two longer but that may be inherently understandable.

Thanked by: ElMojoOk professor.
The bandwidth is obviously a factor.
However , that is not the issue here.
The same bandwidth in question performed perfectly before the update.
Ive been working with digital audio since the mid 90’s when we need scsi drives terminated and 100 mb drives were a luxury. I know a bad design when I run into it. My external Tb3 drives are more than fast enough.
As far as my post sounding like I know everything , sorry if I came off as arrogant. I do know quite a bit about digital audio production. I’m sorry if I’m working at a higher level than most users. This is not a hobby for me.
I love SD3 , it is one of the finest pieces of software I’ve ever used. I wish you would slow down and think about the realities of this issue. I know when I say “bug” it’s hyperbole , that’s on purpose.
The main issue I have with your response is that you are trying to diminish the importance of an issue that has presented itself. The 3 people I work with closely who use SD3, on 3 different rigs, all agree that the splash screen sucks.
You need to trust this is not coming form a place of lazy annoyance.
This is coming from a place of advanced professional audio production knowledge and experience.

You got that right. This forum doesn’t have the best software whether here on the net or email replies. There’s no possibility of sending a PM, no ‘ignore’ feature, no ‘check post before you post it’ and when you quote someone you don’t see what said quote is. Near as I can see there’s no place to lodge a complaint about the forum s/w.

Trying to argue with Bear-Faced Cow based on logic is a losing proposition. He’s been like that for decades and on other forums. He never admits he’s wrong or that there might be another piece of the puzzle to look at. He refuses to see that a system that worked perfectly before is having an issue with the last update. Near as I can figure out Toontrack did not change the specs for the program as regards operating system or hardware.

UMMM no… computer specs don’t matter in this case. The fact that it’s just a 6-core Xeon with 64GB has little to do with it. You obviously missed what I said in my previous message regarding my drives. I guess you still haven’t realized all over these years that THIS was what matters in audio production far more than CPU speed.
And once again you have it backwards in your perspective. You’re one who somehow feels intimidated with the fact that I will freely share knowledge that I have learned over the decades. The manner in which you jumped into this conversation demonstrates just that. Perhaps, if you believe that I know everything, you need to follow me a little closer to see everything that I have had to learn, and in some cases re-learn, over the past seven years.
